I worked in the Charleston area for a few years, and stayed nearby on Sullivans Island; during that time this quickly became my favorite restaurant in the entire Charleston area. I went at least once a week while in town; usually to dine in, but occasionally ordering take out. The location would make you easily over look this establishment; but the food is wonderful, and I love the environment and atmosphere inside. I love the interior, it is very calm and relaxing to me; and extremely clean. The service was always phenomenal; the staff is very friendly, and always professional. Everything I tried on the menu I was very pleased with, and the food was consistent every time; and always well plated. The prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of food, service, atmosphere, and environment. I’ve been to restaurants that are double their price, that aren’t as well rounded and consistent. Parking isn’t an issue due to the location, and the large parking lot.
My Recommendations: • Garlic Pepper Jumbo Shrimp • Chicken Teriyaki • Sushi (I loved Every Roll) • The Sweet Tea is...
Read moreThough usually a noodle lover, the Basil Eggplant (with tofu) will always be my favorite Tasty Thai entree! I had the Pad-See-Eu (rice noodles with broccoli, egg, garlic, and sweet soy sauce) and liked it, but it wasn't great enough to make me really want to come back (on the flip side, my dad loved it!!). However, when I dined here again and got my trusty Basil Eggplant, it was banging! Perfect amount of spice, cooked veggies that still had some crunch, sticky white rice. Just perfect.
We also had the egg roll appetizer (it was a special for $3)..they were more like little spring rolls, just fyi. The service was wonderful! Plenty of water refills, very friendly and positive attitudes, well-paced, a manager walking around checking to see that everyone was pleased. They were pretty empty (only 2-3 other tables) but they do to-go orders as well which was getting some hits. I'd...
Read moreMy fiancee had raved about this place when it was in it's old location. For a while we had thought they had closed entirely, but we just found out they had moved here. I very much enjoyed everything Tasty Thai offered. Don't be fooled by the sign out front saying that they are closed on Sundays. They recently changed their hours so they're open everyday. We had the crab wontons, the golden bag (chicken dumplings), and the house salad to start. All delicious, the salad dressing especially was amazing. Idk what it was but I want the recipe. For mains we got the pad see ew with chicken and I had the drunken spaghetti with beef. Level 1 spice was just a nice hint of heat. The flavor of both of the dishes was excellent. The beef was cooked really well (not over done). We finished with the mango sticky rice which is a must at any Thai restaurant. Check this place...
