Pho Lucky & Boba Tea — Restaurant in Mount Pleasant

Aug 2 2024: came for a late lunch (3pm ish) during their soft opening hours (2-9pm). They revamped the interior of the previous Asian Flavor restaurant. Bright greens, plants, bamboo flooring, and bamboo decor accents. A cozy homey vibe that gives you that, 'imma get some good homecookin' and care from aunties' vibes :)

SOOO excited for their full menu when they officially open next week, 'cause their food was bangin!! The tables are still in the process of being set up for official opening, so give em a pardon. Like there weren't napkin dispensers at all tables yet. There were chopsticks and Chin-Su hot sauce; I love that they offer Chin-Su when I usually see Huy Fong Foods in Charleston! It's nice to see homage to what they have in Vietnam.

My boyfriend got the viet iced coffee and pho tai, I got the weekend special bo kho. (Forgot to take pictures, but I will be frequenting often!). Bo kho came with a whole baguette that was SO SOFTTT; UGH I haven't come across a soft fluffy banh mi interior since leaving charlotte. The bo kho is a clearish liquidy broth, rather than a thicker darker stew. I also got the egg rolls and omgg, I was transported to the viet temple and church markets/cookouts!! I missed this type of egg roll so much!!! I forsee myself buying a party platter just for myself in the future LOL.

It's only their soft opening, but they've already exceeded my hopes and dreams! Can't wait to see what else they offer. Will try the bun bo hue next time and the nem nuong platter!!! They've solidified their spot in Top 3 Viet restaurants in Charleston!!! Pho 79, Pho Bowl, and Pho Lucky; each have great and different pho broth...

The first time we came, we ordered Bubba. After we ordered another one, it took 20 min, but we didn't even get it till we walked almost to our car, and the lady ran out. We weren't notified when it was ready. So we left because we thought they forgot. Not very much engaged with the customers. Second tome we came service was ok. 3rd time we came, we were the only people there ordering. we sat down for a good 15 min. Then some people came in order and got their stuff right away, as well as the people ordering after them. We got ours like 40 mins later. Then some people who sat behind us ordered. I wanted to see how fast they got theirs. And they got...

I think there are better places in the area for the same type of food. Tried the egg rolls and beef pho. Pho was pretty good, but the egg rolls were dripping in oil and were not fresh-made, but tasted like they were right out of the freezer into the deep fryer.

When you order, you get a good view of the kitchen operation, which I wish I had not seen. Cleanliness and organization in the kitchen was lacking.

Very tight seating and you are going to hear every word your neighbor says. Unfortunately the people next to us were wasted and loud.

On a positive note, our server was very nice and was hustling to get food out. No complaints on...
