While the front desk service was wonderful and the room's accommodations were amazing, my boyfriend and I left with the goal to never return. In the shower, there is a metal plate covering the drain. When I first hopped into the shower, I found that the water wasn't draining, so I pried the metal plate up with a comb. The drain was covered and filled with LOADS of hair that was starting to host mold, and small mounds of sand lay gathered in the alcove surrounding the drain. The metal plate was slimy with mold, and I spent about 20 minutes pulling moldy hair out of the drain and trying to wash all of the sand down the drain. THEN (yes it gets better) as my boyfriend and I checked around our room, underneath the furniture and such, for anything we may have accidentally left behind, I found a large white prescription pill with the diameter of a dime or penny, and about half a centimeter thick (mind you, this hotel was pet friendly, so if I had brought my dogs, they could've faced serious health problems if they had they gotten hold of this pill.) I was surprised that it was there seeing as how it was placed in an area that should've been vaccumed prior to our stay. As we walked down the hallway to leave, we passed housekeeping as they were cleaning other vacant rooms. We both over heard one lady admit to her coworker, "Yeah, I was gonna clean this room, but it's really not that bad." We were absolutely disgusted, and though the lodging SEEMED nice, I learned that standard protocol was not followed and that was why we were exposed to unsanitary conditions. PS - in the picture featured, you can see moldy hair on the metal plate (left), the green stuff on the floor is actually sand (not mold), and there is some hair in the drain cage. I had already pulled out one clump before this picture, and in my disgust I decided that we needed a record of this. It took about 3 times of pulling hair out to clear the drain.

What a fantastic hotel! I spent a week here and the service was superb. Mama that works in the front had to be the sweetest woman ever!!! My room was kept immaculate each day. Everything was new clean and modern from the flat screen TV to the appliances. I really enjoyed the spaciousness of the room. The bathroom was sleek with all new gorgeous Delta hardware. The shower was a beautiful all glass door. There was plenty of free and ample parking. There is a tony gym for exercising. I was so busy I didn’t check out the pool on this stay. They provide free breakfast every morning and thank God the coffee is delicious here. My bed was very comfortable as well. There are plenty of options close by to eat and downtown is only 15 minutes away. The airport is only 20 minutes away. Based on value quality and location this Marriott is a winner. Follow me on ig @sweet_maloy. Bottom line is I would definitely return. #askSweet

We are Marriott loyalty members. This Town place Suite is modern with attractive rooms. We stayed Sun -Sun, 16-24 October 2022, expecting another positive Marriott experience. However:

  1. There was a well functioning ice machine very near our 3rd floor room. But our room had no ice bucket. Front desk said ice buckets are not provided. We found a plastic pitcher in our kitchenette, but it was broken and unusable. Asked front desk to replace it, but they were unresponsive the entire week 2) Needing to use the ironing board, I discovered there wasn't pad under the thermal cover of the board, which makes the ironing board unusable. I folded one of our bath towels and inserted it to be able to use the ironing board, figuring if the front desk couldn't remedy the ice bucket/broken pitcher situation, they probably couldn't supply an ironing board cover either. The iron, however was good quality and worked well. 3) The complimentary breakfast was marginal compared to other Marriott properties we've used, and we've stayed at a lot. Despite offering instant oatmeal packets and boxes of cereal, there was no milk available for three days. Fresh fruit amounted to very poor quality (small and rock hard) oranges and bananas...except after the first 3 days the bananas ran out and never reappeared. 4) At Check-in, we requested maid service for one day, Weds, during our week-long visit. No service on Weds. We took down our own trash. We checked on status of our Weds request. We weren't on the service list for Thursday either. We called the Front Desk. Much apologizing, but in the meantime, we needed clean towels and toilet paper and our floor vacuumed. Visited front desk, got towels. Took toilet paper from maid's trolley, maid was nowhere in sight. Assumed maid would be in shortly to vacuum and take trash, but shortly thereafter, the trolley was no longer on the 3rd floor. Called front desk again. More apologizing, I asked if Asst Gen Mgr if he cared at all about their online reviews. He said "Yes'. I said "Actions speak louder than words." Awhile later, a person came, vacuumed and removed trash. She was neither friendly nor apologetic, but she did what was supposed to have been done 24 hrs earlier. 5) The next morning we didn't have hot water in the bathroom sink or shower even though there was very hot water in the kitchenette sink. A repairman came within the hour and fixed that. 6) Although boasting their kitchenette on their website, ours had 4 steak knives, 2 table knives, and 1 spoon. There were 4 each plates and bowls. When mentioned to front desk, the answer was that kitchen items keep disappearing from the rooms. I pointed out that regardless, that situation doesn't help the next unwary person to be assigned the room; don't say you offer a sufficiently appointed kitchen if you aren't willing to provide one. Say the room has a fridge, stovetop, sink, and microwave, but guests must bring their own flatware, utensils and dishes. That would be better and more honest than having frustrated guests who ultimately get a lot of apologies but no support from the front desk. 7) Only one light in the bathroom worked, which was the one above the toilet and shower. The vanity mirror, which was supposed to be an illuminated frame around the mirror, did not work. * THE TAKE-AWAY: If you only need to stay here one night, go ahead, you probably won't be inconvenienced by missing breakfast items, absent maid service, an inadequately appointed kitchenette, or an ineffective and unsupportive (albeit friendly and apologetic) front desk. However if staying longer, I'd seriously recommend looking into The Doubletree across the...

I stayed at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott at 1350 Stuart Engles Blvd in Mount Pleasant, SC for 60 days while my apartment was being repaired after a fire, and I was receiving medical treatment as a disabled combat veteran. During my stay, I encountered a deeply distressing situation with a front desk clerk named Shanon, which left me not only embarrassed but emotionally traumatized. This experience has left me with nowhere to go, and tonight, I’ll be sleeping in my car with my dog because of her actions.

Shanon and I initially formed a friendship, and I helped her out on multiple occasions. I checked her car’s oil, took her out to lunch, and even spent time with her while she was on the clock, smoking and drinking in my car. While she flirted with me, I maintained professionalism. However, things started to take a turn when she began speaking derogatorily about her coworker Brandi and the General Manager, Graham, often creating drama and attempting to get Brandi fired. She even begged me to report what I had witnessed to Ashley, the front desk manager, but I refused because I didn’t want to be involved in her personal vendettas.

Last night, the situation escalated in an unbelievable way. As I was walking with a female friend toward the elevator, Shanon gave me a sharp look and called me back to the front desk. She began questioning me about my account, even though Graham and my VA liaison had already cleared it. She had previously charged my account in retaliation, and when I asked why, she had no real explanation except, "I’m just doing my job." This late-night encounter was not the first time she acted this way, and I couldn't shake the feeling that she was targeting me due to personal issues.

When I told her I felt targeted and asked if she was doing this with every guest, she became visibly upset and started yelling at me. I calmly picked up a complaint card to jot down her information, and when she saw this, she threatened to have me removed from the hotel. When I told her I would be adding this to my complaint, she coldly responded, "Watch this."

Within minutes, she called the police. The officers who arrived were incredibly understanding and tried their best to help me, but they too were confused. Shanon had made up multiple lies to get me kicked out, and the police told me themselves that her story didn’t add up at all. I was in shock when they informed me that I had to leave, despite my apartment burning down, my ongoing medical treatments, and the fact that I had my service dog with me. Shanon’s actions felt like a calculated retaliation—completely unprovoked and fueled by jealousy or personal issues. The police could clearly see that the situation didn’t make sense, and their body camera footage will verify how her story was full of inconsistencies.

I have nowhere to go tonight, and the thought of sleeping in my car with my dog is devastating. I’ve always treated everyone at this hotel with respect and kindness, making friends with many of the staff members. Shanon's behavior was hurtful and unjustified. I'm not only embarrassed by what happened but also deeply traumatized by the way I was treated.

I’ve already reached out to Marriott corporate and plan to contact IMIC Hotels to fully report this incident. No guest should ever be treated this way, especially in vulnerable circumstances like mine. I sincerely hope the management takes serious action to prevent this from happening to...

Never staying here again. Room was clean, front desk check in process was terrible. I’ve never had an issue checking in early to any other Marriott hotels except for this one. I called 5 days ahead of our reservation to ask to check in earlier than 4pm due to having to be at a wedding at 5pm. The man I spoke to told me I could check in at 2pm at the earliest which sounded great and he said he would make a note on my reservation for my early check in time. The morning of our reservation I also checked in on the Marriott Bonvoy App and it said I could check in at 2:15pm which was fine also. We arrived at 2pm and was told that no rooms were ready and to come back at 4pm. I explained how I already called ahead of time days earlier and checked in using the app as well that morning and I had to get ready for a wedding and could not wait until 4 to be checked in. She said “well a room might be ready by 2:30 you can wait in the lobby.” At 2:15pm another couple comes in and checks in with no issues so I asked how they had a room but I didn’t. She said they had checked in using the mobile app and I told her again that I did too and it said I could arrive at 2:15pm. The lady at the front desk claimed she was the manager and I couldn’t speak to anyone else above her. She wasn’t wearing a name tag. We ended up having to wait until 2:45pm to be checked in. So then we had to hurry up and rush to get ready for the wedding instead of being able to somewhat relax and not have to rush after a 5 hour car drive. Other guests were also coming in after us stating they had called ahead and checked in on the mobile app but they were also told they couldn’t check in until 4pm because “early check in is not guaranteed”. I’m a platinum elite member and I’ve never had this issue before nor have I ever had to deal with such a rude and careless staff member who just kept repeating “Well I didn’t tell you that when you called.” Definitely do not recommend this hotel especially if you need to check in before 4pm. Also, to make it even worse I had a throbbing headache at 3am and went down to the lobby where they were out of stock of bottled water and all headache medicine in the market area and asked the guy at the front desk if they had anything in a stock room and he didn’t get up to look and just told me “well the Walmart...
