Kudzu Bakery & Market — Restaurant in Mount Pleasant

I have been buying the cinnamon raisin bread for many years. Usually buying 6 to 8 loafs at a time. The bread used to have lots of big chunks of cinnamon but for the past year or so, the cinnamon raisin bread is nothing special. It has barely any cinnamon, usually a third of the loaf has none at all. With tax, it is over $9 and I didn't mind paying this for this bread when it was amazingly delicious and had lots of cinnamon in it but the bread is not worth this price now. I discussed this with the manager, both at the old location and the new location, and they assured me they are monitoring it but the last 6 loafs I purchased were horrible...I bought the loaves because the staff assured me there was lots of cinnamon in the bread. I bragged about this bread to friends, who bought the bread because of my recommendation, but they are now disappointed in the bread as well. I would like to continue buying this bread but it truly is not worth the price. Without the big chunks of cinnamon from end to end, this bread is no better than grocery store cinnamon raisin bread and the grocery bread is a lot cheaper. All I wanted there today was to pick up a cake I’d ordered on the recommendation of an acquaintance. I got the cake, but, clearly, this was not a good day to be a new customer. I felt like I was trapped in a Seinfeld episode where, as always, they are treated in an oddly unkind way. I wasn’t surprised to find a long line and had expected a wait to check out because I have waited in long, slow lines everywhere in the area since before Thanksgiving. It’s absolutely incredible how amazing everything that comes out of their kitchen really is. I have been buying their cookies and cakes for years. It’s consistently amazing.
