Kairos Greek Kitchen in Mt. Pleasant is a culinary haven for Mediterranean enthusiasts, and their build-your-own bowl concept is a gastronomic masterpiece. Stepping into Kairos feels like entering a culinary oasis, where the vibrant colors and inviting aromas set the stage for a delightful dining experience. The build-your-own bowl option is a stroke of genius, allowing patrons to craft personalized Mediterranean masterpieces. From the first step of choosing a base—options ranging from fluffy couscous to crisp romaine lettuce—you embark on a culinary journey that caters to your unique cravings. The variety of bases ensures there's something for everyone, whether you're seeking a hearty grain foundation or a lighter, refreshing start. Moving down the line, the assortment of proteins is a carnivore's dream. Grilled chicken, succulent lamb, or flavorful falafel—all expertly prepared and seasoned to perfection. The toppings and spreads are a playground of flavors, with options like tangy tzatziki, smoky eggplant dip, and briny olives elevating each bite. What truly sets Kairos apart is the attention to detail in sourcing fresh, quality ingredients. Crisp vegetables burst with freshness, and the feta cheese adds a creamy richness that ties everything together. The assembly is an art form, with each ingredient thoughtfully placed to ensure a harmonious blend of textures and tastes. The staff's enthusiasm for their craft is palpable, and their recommendations showcase a deep passion for Mediterranean cuisine. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a casual lunch or a leisurely dinner. Kairos Greek Kitchen is not just a restaurant; it's a celebration of Mediterranean flavors, and the build-your-own bowl option is your ticket to a personalized culinary adventure.

Update! 2025- the work trip drive -3.5 hours- well worth it. Neither the Pandemic, Helene nor an east coast snow storm can alter the massive appeal of this unique restaurant. The black lentils and fab tzatziki are offset by tender sweet potato and perfectly seasoned chicken in the Moroccan Bowl. The soft pita, individual portion is available upon request with any bowl, was fresh tasting and yummy. The staff, as always, helpful and willing to guide new comer through the process. Today shout out to Griffin and El. I suggest downloading the app, and trying the lavender lemonade- made fresh in house. If you are thirsty, go for turmeric and black tea… I have it on good authority the decedent yogurt will return to Mt Pleasant in April. Put it on your calendar. And in meantime, if Charleston is too far for you, try Columbia SC. Columbiana Circle or Devine Street. This was a remarkable surprise . We were tired hot and hungry… went in expecting Zoe’s kitchen - came out a fan of Kairo’s. The Moroccan bowl & a Restoration (?) something like that was so good we can not tell you how good. To sum it up, fresh, well prepared ingredients - tasty and full of fiber and goodness. If you are a bread fiend this is not your gig. You get a small square of pita ( very tasty) but neither of us complained. For dessert you must try Greek yogurt, with honey and sea salt ( we had blueberry instead of salt) this was a great experience. Worth the price. Friendly staff. Would go again in a heartbeat!

Disappointed and annoyed. Normally it’s pretty good at Kairos. Ordered a bowl and chose meatballs at my protein. Ready to dive in and one of the meatballs had already been sliced open it seems. And it was very obviously pink. I thought maybe it was the sauce they put on it? Nope…cut open the other meatballs and they were all totally raw on the inside. Tried to ask for a different meat protein, because naturally we were worried all of the meatballs would be like that. We were told that it’s totally normal and that if we had an issue with it being pink that was our problem. We were also told it’s a chemical reaction that makes them pink…no sir…it’s a lack of a chemical reaction that makes that occur. We googled while we were eating our lunch (sans meatballs) to make sure we weren’t crazy…Google will tell you real quick that pink meatballs mean it’s not safe to eat…yeah Google…we agree. Politely did not press the issue despite paying the up charge fee for the meatballs. The worker (possibly manager?) inquired if we had looked it up when we were leaving and we told him that it was definitely raw and he promptly told us we were wrong…yeah probably not going to go back. Go check out Cava instead, better worth your money.

A Protein-Packed Delight at Kairos Mediterranean

★★★★☆

My recent visit to Kairos Mediterranean in Mount Pleasant, SC, proved to be a delectable experience. Though I only tried the Protein Bowl, it left a lasting impression that will surely bring me back for more.

The Protein Bowl is a customizable dish, allowing you to select your preferred protein, grains, and toppings. I opted for the grilled chicken, quinoa, and a medley of toppings including mixed greens, Kalamata olives, and roasted red peppers. The result was a beautifully presented and well-balanced meal that was both nutritious and satisfying.

The star of the dish, the grilled chicken, was cooked to perfection - tender, juicy, and wonderfully seasoned. The quinoa provided a wholesome and nutty base, while the mixed greens added a fresh and crisp element to the meal. The Kalamata olives and roasted red peppers were a delightful touch, adding a Mediterranean flair to the bowl.

The portion size was generous, making the Protein Bowl a great value for the price. Moreover, the service was friendly and efficient, with our server attending to our needs and ensuring we were satisfied with our meal.

The only minor issue I encountered during my visit was the slightly longer wait time for the dish to be prepared. However, given the quality and taste of the meal, this minor inconvenience was quickly forgotten.

In summary, the Protein Bowl at Kairos Mediterranean in Mount Pleasant is a protein-packed delight that is definitely worth trying. While I have yet to explore the rest of the menu, this dish alone has made me a fan of the restaurant. I highly recommend Kairos Mediterranean to anyone seeking a tasty and nutritious meal in a warm and...
