Horrible breakfast experience Monday, 12/5/2022. I had taken the day off from work to run some errands and see my oncologist. My boyfriend and I have eaten here several times as Flying Biscuit is close to home. However, yesterday will be our last time at Flying Biscuit. The server was very kind and attentive. However, things started with cold coffee. When the meal arrived, a gentleman delivered it, commenting about the avocado on the avocado toast being brown because it was cut fresh earlier in the morning and mashed and had oxidized. Fine... First Watch and other breakfast joints cut the avocado as made-to-order meals. Despite how gross it looked, my boyfriend took a bite, and even the scrambled eggs on top were cold, and the dish was not good. He informed the server, and she notified the gentleman who brought the dish to the table. He came back and removed the avocado toast dish and left the side of fruit that came with the order, and we were pressed for time to make it to my appointment, so my boyfriend shared my order of pancakes. They were okay, though not good enough for the two of us to finish, and the cheddar grits that I ordered as a side were nothing to write home about. When the server delivered our tab, the avocado toast had been removed, and we were charged $4 for a side of fruit that came with the avocado toast. In the meantime, the server did bring us fresh coffee, and none of this was her fault, but the food was not good, and the experience was not good, and we would not recommend this restaurant, nor...
Read moreMy bf and I went for brunch on a Saturday. I had the patty melt and he had the stuffed French toast and a carafe of mimosa, which he said was made the way it should be (he has worked in restaurants most of his life, and mostly in the finer dining establishments). The patty melt was very good for what it was, but not my ideal patty melt. The moondusted potatoes though, were AMAZING. My bf really enjoyed his meal and he can't stop talking about how he wants to go back. Unfortunately I had surgery the following Friday and I can't drive for a while, but as soon as I am all healed we will be back! Sorry, I took pictures after we had already finished 😅
We have been back, several times! Never disappoints! My boyfriend gets the same thing 🤣 every time, but I keep changing up. I do have a hard time choosing between the potatoes and the grits. So far I have greatly enjoyed each entree. My only "complaint" is that they aren't open in the evenings! I would be here multiple times a week if I could be, without a doubt. My favorite place for breakfast/brunch anywhere.
The Flying Biscuit is by far my favorite restaurant, not just my fav for brunch either! I can't get here nearly as often as I would like due to various reasons, but I would probably be here every day if I could. The staff is the absolute best. I always enjoy my meal. The grits are fabulous; seriously, the best I've ever had anywhere. When I went today (4/21/24) they had a new menu. I tried a new item, the chicken quesadilla. Very good! Just...
Read moreOne of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. First time I came was slow but I understood because they were extremely packed. Second time, sat immediately and sat 25 minutes. A waitress came by and said, “sorry, I’m not your server” and walked away while taking care of everyone around us instead of looking for our actual server. Finally I asked if our server could be found for us, after another 10 minutes the same lady came back and said well I guess I’m your server now. Got our orders and quickly got our mimosas but no water. Another 20 minutes go by and we finally get our food... still no water. We had to finally ask another waitress for our water. Our original waitress never back to check on us and never refilled our drinks. On top of that we never got our coffee that we ordered 40 minutes prior and when the bill came it was on there. The entire area being served by this waitress was very upset and one couple even left after not receiving attention for 15 minutes. When asked to speak to manager I couldn’t get one but they were able to take 10% off and the coffee off. Honestly with the lack of service and attention it should have been more. We feel like we wasted 2 hours out of our day for an awful experience. It’s a shame because the food is amazing but the bad service just isn’t worth it. The cherry on top was waiting an additional 10 minutes for someone to pick up our card and bill to pay. At this point we just wanted to leave and finally had to get up and find...
