Parrot Surf & Skate — Local services in Mount Pleasant

We’re visiting from out of town and my son likes to visit/support local surf shops so we decided to stop by. Upon entering we were greeted by a lady who seemed genuinely happy to see us and ask if we needed help finding anything. Then as we browsed a young man came in with questions about wetsuits and she immediately asked one of the guys who works there go back and assist him. He was so kind and helpful with the young man, asking questions and offering suggestions based on his own preferences and experience. Then upon checking out, the guy continued the genuine, amazing customer service that we had experienced from the moment we walked in. If only every business embraced their service ethic. Great selection… even better vibe. Every visit to Parrot has been a pleasant, positive experience. It starts when you walk in the door: you’re greeted by the friendly staff, someone always asks if we need help with anything and, when we do, they go above and beyond with assistance, advice, explanations, and answering questions. As new surfers, it makes you feel more welcome. It’s better to support a cool shop like this than order online, and you’re getting a fun experience & learning new things. One sweet employee helped me figure out my perfect wetsuit size and also helped get my head out of the thing before I started to panic. My daughter has been able to test ride a skateboard and try on knee pads, shoes, wetsuits, gloves, and booties before buying. Usually a great playlist going, and hands down our favorite...

Bought some hybrid O’Neill shorts from here and after wearing them one time for a couple hours noticed the seams were coming undone in multiple spots. I came back to the store with my receipt to see if they would help me out with a new pair as I should be able to wear shorts more than one time without having this issue. The guy I spoke with inspected the shorts and told me it looks like I fell on concrete. I do not skate and did not fall to cause this. He then proceeded to scratch at the seams and actually made it worse. He told me they would not help me out and handed my shorts back. Many stores would chalk this up to faulty manufacturing or whatever and at least let me get a new pair of shorts that I paid $50+. Since this was a poor customer experience in my opinion I will not be returning...
