I would say i probably had one of the worst restaraunt visits I've ever experienced, just about twenty minutes ago. My wife, two boys, and I were seated after about a ten minute wait which is no big deal assuming that the hosts are ready for you when they seat you. First we were given a highchair for my two year old that had 3 Allen head screws backed almost completely out of it. No big deal, I screwed them back in with my knife but still the hostess should have noticed it clattering like a rope bridge when she picked it up. Over-all I'm most disappointed in the waitress we had. We waited fifteen minutes before she arrived at the table and then an entire hour before our food was served. My drink was empty when she gave us our order and remained that way until we left. I'm not the most outspoken about these kinds of things and I can understand short staff situations and things of that nature but no explanation or apologetics were offered. We simply waited for 1 hour and then were served cold food. I'm not sure how that even happens. After we were served she only returned once asked if everything was okay and then she left. We finished our meal in about twenty minutes and then sat for another twenty waiting for her to bring us our check. Finally after we put the baby in the car seat and were heading to the register she brought us our receipt, again with no apology. I would've liked to have had dessert had it been offered but I didn't really have another hour to spare. As far as the food goes it was pretty good. This location usually has pretty good food in my opinion and I eat here pretty often. I was disappointed however in the portion size of my "dinner sized macaroni and cheese" which equated to a shallow bowl half full of my dinner. I don't usually leave bad reviews or anything like this but I was very disappointed. Read moreThis morning about 10 AM, 8-8-17, we went to this Bob Evans’ restaurant. We waited in line behind a dozen people. The restaurant was all but empty. The front dining area had maybe 2 tables with customers. The rest of the front room was empty. I walked to the back and there were very few tables in use. When I returned to the hostess area no one had been seated. After waiting minutes more a worker who had just been cleaning tables off came up to the front, with the cleaning rag still in her hand, took a clipboard out of a drawer, and took the first couple to a table. No Greeting, No menus, nothing but the clipboard. The young lady who seated the first couple did not return to greet the next party, or take a party to a table. More people came into the reception area. The hostess area was crowded. No one was signing parties in or taking any information as to who’s next, how many, etc. Not even a greeting! My wife and I left. We had waited long enough.
I have seen this restaurant go from the usual high quality Bob Evans restaurant with good food and better than good service, to a slow paced, wait to be seated, maybe get your drink in 10 minutes, wait for 40+ minutes for your food and the next time you see your server is when you get the bill. Hey, the bill gets there right away, usually. Most of the time there is someone close enough to the front check out that you don’t have to wait. And when it has been a manager check me out, they ask how everything was. I tell them if the service or food was poor. I also tell them when it is good and that I notice the improvement.
I doubt you will see us in there soon. We just don’t care to be treated like that when I go out to eat. Now that Allyson’s restaurant is gone. There is no real good breakfast place on Coshocton Rd. Read moreAfter having a bad experience at this location over 3 years ago, decided to try to again for a work lunch. Terrible idea. We waited for at least 20 minutes before we were acknowledged. Once we were seated we waited another 15-20 minutes before our server came over. After watching people who came in after us get their food, eat and leave we were able to track down someone to ask about our food. At this point we were waiting an hour past when we ordered. He was the only person remotely concerned. Pulled the server aside to ask What happened and comped our meal. Our server hadn’t ever put the order in. Mistakes happen but this location is pretty inexcusable for how terrible everything was. Meanwhile our server had refilled coffee 3 times and not even noticed or realized we hadn’t gotten our food. We were being patient and understanding because it appeared the staff had no idea what was going on. I wouldn’t even go as far as to the say they were understaffed. They just didn’t care. Multiple people wouldn’t acknowledge any customers there. There were multiple tables full of dirty dishes on trays, dirty rags thrown on the tables and seating people next to disgusting tables. There was no way these towels were used with Sanitabs. It was the dirtiest, slowest, worst service. The management must be absolutely awful. Our server wasn’t capable of her job and it showed. We never had anyone check back with us. We were there for nearly 2 hours. As a person who served for over 25 years and who will ALWAYS give the benefit of the doubt in ALL situations, even I found our experience so unacceptable that I’m taking time to write a review which normally I would never do.
