Please save yourself the misfortune of dining at this horrible establishment!if I could give zero stars or less, then I would. So let me give you the details on quite possibly the worst restaurant experience that I’ve ever had. We had made a hibachi reservation last Saturday at 7pm. We arrived about 10 minutes early and checked in. We were assured that it would just be a few minutes until our table was ready. Well, 7pm came and went. At 7:15pm i asked the manager how much longer would it be because the kids were getting restless and I was starving. Again I was assured that it would only be a few more minutes. I started chatting with the other family that was waiting near us, and they also had a 7pm reservation. Just as we were about to leave at 7:35pm, we were finally seated. It then took another 20 minutes for them to come around and get our orders. To the managers credit, he did bring my family and the other family a free appetizer as an apology for waiting so long. Of note, our table was overcrowded and we were all squeezed in like sardines because they had over booked. Dinner was mediocre at best and the service was fairly poor. They managed to forget my brother’s salad, as they had miscounted how many people were at the table (probably because there were so many of us squeezed onto that table). Although the server told him that they would bring another salad right out, it was another 10 minutes or so and when everyone else was moving on to the entree portion of the hibachi. They then managed to forget a white rice for our family, as well as one for the other family that was at our table. But the topper of the evening was when the cook spilled an entire cup of Pepsi on my sister. He said a quick sorry and then started laughing about the whole situation. He was quick to blame her for moving her plate, which made him tip the cup over. She was soaked with pop, my nephew had pop down the side of his coat and a bit on his shirt, and my purse that was on the floor was soaked on the bottom. Unfortunately, I had gotten out my “good” purse to use that evening and they managed to ruin the bottom of my Louis Vuitton bag that I had saved so long for. The servers looked panicked and rushed over with towels. They tried to help the best they could. The other family that was sitting with us looked shocked as well. We hurried to finish up our dinner as two people in our party were soaked with pop and freezing cold. And throughout all of this, never once did the manager/owner come over to offer an apology. I’ve worked in restaurants, and this was completely unacceptable and cowardly behavior. Accidents happen, but at least own up to it and offer to help or do something to rectify the situation. If my sister and nephew weren’t so cold, I would have loved to have a sit down with the manager/owner and explain how good customer service works. So please save yourself the trouble and go ANYWHERE else. I will never be going back to this horrid place. And I may even be sending them a bill for my purse. I hope they read this and rethink the way that they...
Read moreWARNING: If you sit in the dining room instead of at the grill, your food is prepared differently. I wasn't asked where I wanted to sit. When I arrived, I was ushered to a table, but because the hibachi options were on the menu, I assumed I would be getting the same meal I would receive at the grill. My shrimp meal arrived drowned in teriyaki sauce--not my favorite. The veggies instead of being grilled, were steamed in a pot with water and lots of teriyaki sauce. Other Japanese-style grills usually add only a little salt, pepper, and soy sauce, which is what I was expecting. The server and, I am assuming the owner, offered to remake my food, which I refused because who wants to waste food? I blotted much of the sauce off the shrimp, but there was too much on he veggies, so they insisted on preparing new ones. The staff bent over backwards to make my experience an enjoyable one. I will go back, but ask that they lay off the sweet teriyaki sauce. The owner insisted that I have a deep-fried cheesecake on the house. DELICIOUS! I don't believe I have ever received such awesome care from a restaurant! Check this place out; you...
Read moreI've had a few negative experiences ordering here. The food is definitely overpriced for the quality. A few items in particular have been bad such as sushi, hibachi chicken, crab rangoons, side salad, side soup, and sauces/dressings. The sushi is poorly rolled and falls apart when you try to eat it despite being very small. The hibachi chicken dinner was okay. The proteins (meats) are always overcooked and chewy. The side salad/soup you get are a few pieces of old lettuce and some hot broth. The crab rangoons have no trace of crab or imitation crab in them. The dough is pale and tasteless, while the tiny amount of filling is basically just sweetened cream cheese. Usually at Hibachi restaurants they offer several sauces and dressings that can be very delicious. That is not the case at Ichiban. The salad dressing, yum-yum sauce and other side sauces tasted bad. They barely had any flavor and seemed very watered down. I've had significantly better food at several other hibachi restaurants. Ichiban Sushi & Steak House (as my receipt reads) needs to make some big changes regarding service...
