Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Mount Vernon

My wife and I went in for lunch. I ordered a double cheeseburger, chicken strips and Popcorn Shrimp. After waiting 15 to 20 minutes they still had not brought our order to our table. So, I went to check on our order. The cashier said, "oh...we don't make popcorn shrimp any more, what would you like to order instead?" I said, I already ordered and paid for my order". He said, "oh...we don't make that anymore, would you like something else?" I said, "no, just give me a refund." Someone that i assume was the manager came over (I think to find out what the issue was), said something but I wasn't sure what. So, I asked "how long was I going to have to sit and wait before someone came and told me that you no longer make what I have already paid for?" The manager then said, "jcdjdi, nsoiewi. hsdty, temncx, heo lkmlewdmjd, ddpookewdd, ksndyu." At least that's what it sounded like was said. The cashier, then got someone to show him how to run the register so he could refund me for the food I ordered that they no longer make. Despite all this, I do have to say that the pictures they have on their menu are really nice pictures. Compliments to the photographer! PS: After reading all the "one star and 2 star reviews, and the generic responses to the UNHAPPY customers, I'm anxious to see the written response to my review. If you are actually reading and addressing these issues, please explain how you plan to correct the problems, other than continuing...

DQ is supposed to be known for their ice cream. I went here to get a milkshake. Ordered a large chocolate malt with no whipped cream. The lady at the drive-thru window even noticed it, and said 'Wow, hope you don't want it to be thick.' I took it and it was the consistency of water. I told her 'Yeah, I do want it to be at least thicker than water'. She said 'I'll have them remake it - I would've just told them to remake it in the first place but I get in trouble with the manager if I do that - it has to be requested by the customer'. The one that was remade was thicker, but still not what anyone would call thick (it easily went through a normal soda straw). Not what most people would call large either - it was about the size of a medium soda at McDonalds. I'd hate to see a small milkshake - probably comes in a shot glass. Also, the remade milkshake had whipped cream. My takeaway is the place is poorly managed and they put the same amount of ice cream in a large milkshake as in a small milkshake - so the large will always be watered down and thin. Like most fast food chains, they hire HS kids that really don't give a f*ck about doing a good job, then give them minimal training and don't supervise them well. Mediocre service and results is about the best you will get here - expect worse. Not bad coney dogs with cheese though. They can at least cook a hot dog without...

1 star because 0 isn't an option. WORST experience EVER. Long story short my child ordered a blizzard on the app because at 7pm they're already closed the inside. Manager says he didn't get the order which was on her phone AND cleared her bank account. Manager refuses to even look at her phone and was extremely rude and disrespectful (I was on the phone at this point hearing it all) so I go there to solve the issue for my child (I also tried calling the store SEVERAL times NO answer even the next day BEFORE I called corporate) and again same thing again extremely rude saying he can't give me anything for free even though it was already paid for. Told me I needed to contact corporate for a refund. A whole HOUR was WASTED over a blizzard. Customer service isn't a thing here at all so if you're going don't expect it. I DID call corporate and they said the independent owner would contact me and make things right fast forward to a WEEK later and I have yet to hear a single word from them. My whole entire family will NEVER EVER go back to this dairy queen again and I WILL most definitely continue to spread the word about this horrible experience and hope no one else encounters it or even goes there and supports this establishment anymore.
