I'm a craft coffee connoisseur and have been a barista for many years, and I'd give this place a solid 3 stars.
It's a cute little place. Decent wifi and fairly comfortable seating. They offer food as well. The only thing that threw me off, which I get with their shop name, but that they ONLY pull ristretto shots, which are sweeter and have less caffine.
I get that it's a fun quirky way to brand themselves, but when I asked if they served blonde espresso, I was given a look like, um duh no we don't, we only serve ristretto. My drink tasted a little flat, sweet, and bland, where I had been hoping for a more stronger espresso flavor. Ristretto shots also have less caffine, so you have to pay for more shots to get the same amount of caffeine as a normal shot lol.
The price was oddly high too, for getting 2 shots over ice with a little white mocha and light oat milk, was something like $7.25. Which was wild to me. Anywhere else that I go to get 2 shots over ice only ever costs me $4-5.
He charged me for an Americano, which maybe costs more so he could get more from my order. I get it, you're a small coffee shop and you need the $. Just not in love with my experience over all... :(
Overall it's a decent little local craft coffee shop, but I wish that the service was little more friendly, and that they offered different pulls of...
Read moreFirst time here. Right off the bat, the man on the espresso machine was treating the young girl at the order-taking machine with zero respect. She appeared to be training, and when she didn’t know the correct abbreviation for the drink, he condescendingly said, I don’t know what that is. She apologized with her head down, appearing to look for guidance. The man was not helpful, just plain mean. Then my fiancé and I approached the counter and weren’t even acknowledged until we asked where to place the order. This guy’s tone was demeaning; “right on the yellow dot”. Every step of the way we were treated like an inconvenience and a nuisance. The girl taking our order was very kind. Maybe the dude was having a terrible day, but that gives you no right to treat anybody this way. Especially someone new to the place; and even more-so to someone who is still learning the ropes.
I was really excited to try this place, as I’ve heard so many good things. This man, single-handedly ruined our experience. I am genuinely surprised he even has a job in the...
Read moreGreat atmosphere! Very good coffee they use. The only small problem - for such a great place - barista could be more professional! Adding milk resided from making previous cup to a Macchiato coffee and even asking how much milk I want is such a dummy tone. Macchiato coffee should only have a spoon of milk foam on top of espresso and should not be mixed with milk like cappuccino. Professional must know the difference! Also it could be very nice to have really tiny cups for ristretto, espresso and macchiato. Besides, they have a good choice of pastries. Though the counter lady suggested to heat them. So sorry she didn’t understand that heating puff pastry products could only spoil them. Also please, please - not suggest adding flavors like caramel to people who just want to appreciate a good coffee. Just leave this option on your blackboard for those who miss...
