This place is AMAZING! My husband and I decided to venture out last night for a date night. We have been wanting to try Taste of India for awhile but hadn’t made it out there. Last night we were so happy we made the trip up to Mount Vernon. We were unaware they closed at 8pm and stopped in right about 7:45pm. The woman working was very accommodating went and asked the kitchen if that would be okay and they were happy to serve us. From the time we stepped into the establishment to the time we left the service, food, knowledge, hospitality and general conversation was impressive, spot on. The service was fast and the food was absolutely delicious my husband and I both noticed how delicious the food was and how we did not receive indigestion or a yucky kind of a feeling after eating there. The food was authentic and spice was perfect! The apps were amazing and not just fried chickpea flour as we have had in the past we love different kinds of foods and were truly impressed with everything. This establishment is quite small but the food is so delicious it doesn’t even matter. My husband who isn’t a huge dessert fan absolutely loved the Gajar Ka Halwa it was so so so yummy and a great recommendation from the waitress. We will be coming back most definitely. Especially when the farmers market starts again. If you want some delicious Indian Food with wonderful service you have to...
Read moreWe stumbled on this place after checking out the tulip festival and am so happy we found it. While we were talking around, a nice lady named Nancy recommended we check it out. The service from the staff was impeccable - which is such a rarity today. I’ve NEVER had such good service in Washington state, ever. Everyone was so friendly and helpful.
The food was delicious and fresh and flavorful. We got an order of samosas, lamb vindaloo, and garlic naan. I also got a mango lassi. Definitely the best Indian food I have had for awhile.
I even overhead staff talk with other customers who ordered their food a little too spicy for their flavor and she proactively took it back to give them dishes with less heat so they could enjoy their food without them even having requested that. Truly amazing customer service.
Limited seating, but turnover wasn’t bad and on a nice day there are a few outdoor tables and seating at the park area nearby. Definitely not “fancy”, dishes served on paper plates with plastic utensils, but it really doesn’t affect the ambiance or anything. The prices were also very affordable for the amount of food you get and the quality of the food.
If I ever end up in the area again, I would definitely...
Read moreI started eating here years ago when I moved back from Seattle and was used to now closed down Seattle Chutneys. I loved it then, but then I went on a blind date here with who I didnt then know was my future wife. So obviously now I have a slightly skewed opinion of the place. Ive only had better indian food at one other place and I make it a point to try it wherever I go because I love it so much. This place is very small and thats literally the only negative, they make up for it with the massive amounts of love and care they give their food and to their customers. That warm feeling of family is very common with Indian people and this place is no different. I love the owners and their food and I will forever be a customer here. If youve never eaten indian food get the following: one order of samosa, chicken tikka masala, medium heat, extra meat. Two garlic naan per entre. And one mango lassi per person. You put the rice and tikka masala into a bowl, unmixed, and then tear a small chunk of the naan bread off and use it to scoop out some of the chicken and rice and eat the whole bite. Yum. This feeds one person REALLY well for one night or pretty well for two meals for $35/person, app and...
