I'm glad this place is open in Mt. Vernon. The menu is has alot of different choices of types of food. Gyros, burgers, chopped steak, club sandwiches, chicken platters, etc... My wife and I and a couple of her relatives went there at 8:15pm on a Thursday night. We ordered a Dbl. cheeseburger, cheeseburger, smothered chicken, fried cod platter, and a club platter. ALL THE FOOD was supper hot including the baked potato and was delicious. Service is really good as well with friendly. We've been there about 6 times, always good. ENJOY! Added 3/18/18 We go to The Grille weekly now. This past Saturday night we tried the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and the Sunrise Burger. Buffalo chicken wrap was teally good, probably one of the best dishes in MTV. Not too hot and just enough tach to taste good. Wrap came grill marks and was cut in half. Nice size portion and came with fries. The sunrise burger comes with bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickle, cheese and one egg cooked to order. I ordered over easy and it was right on. I suggest breaking the yoke on the top bun before assembly to avoid wearing egg yoke. Burger had a good taste, came with fries and great price of 7.95 for both dinners. Desert was blueberry cream pie. Graham cracker crust with cream cheese cake middle top with blueberry pie filling (I think). Very good and cheap too, 2.95. Go to this place, don't expect 5 star steak house service and have fun! Every casual dining restuarant I've been to lately (Chili's, Applebees, Fuzzy's Taco Shop, Texas Road House, Lota Whata Creek, Cracker Barrel, Lone Star, Hooters, etc) all have less than stellar service which to me suggests poor management training which leads to poor customer service. If you want great service with great food, I suggest Popeye's Chop House in St. Rose, IL, Seasoning in Benton, IL (most of the time), If you are really demanding to have your wait staff act like servants, I suggest Ruth's Chris Steak House at about any location. Although it comes at a price, expect at least $125-150 per couple and more with...
Read moreSuper cute place. Waitress was friendly and waited on us in a timely manor. I am a vegetarian, and I have food allergies. I don't find many places that have a vegetarian option. The only option for an evening meal was a veggie stir fry. I asked the server if the stir fry had mushrooms (one of my food allergies). She immediately said no. I ordered it. It came to my table with mushrooms in it. I sent it back. They offered to make me a stir fry with broccoli, peppers and onions but it wouldn't have the little corn, snow peas, and water chestnuts. That's not much of a stir fry. I said no. They offered to make me an omlet. Eggs, another food allergy. I said no. My husband had to ask for his side he ordered with his meal. We were charged almost $18 for a $12 meal. We both drank water and a customer filled our water when it was empty. We won't be going back. I DO NOT RECOMEND YOU EAT AT THIS PLACE. I had to give it 1 star in order to leave a review, otherwise it...
Read moreWe won’t be back. We’ve ate here twice, we were intrigued by the idea of a family owed restaurant. First time was good, not very busy and it was dinner time. We got dinner specials - big portion but the price posted was for the lunch special not the dinner special. Very disappointed. Then the second time we came here with family, they were slightly busy. We noticed a table did not good their food all at once, some waited over 5 minutes for their food while others had theirs. We still sat down and immediately got our drinks because apparently that’s the only thing the waitress can do without the tablet they use for ordering. Waited over 30 minutes and still had not had our order taken while the lady took everyone else’s order even if they got there after us. When a couple that got there after us received their food, we asked for our check. $10 for 4 drinks. But thankfully they said not to worry about it. We left and...
