union block bistro — Restaurant in Mount Vernon

I saw the article in the Skagit Valley Herald and was thrilled to learn of a queer business in town. And a cafe. We desperately need gathering places in Mount Vernon. The cafe atmosphere is intimate and inviting. Heidi is friendly and engaging. The menu has a great variety. I had the cheese sandwich with soup (carrot/ginger). Heidi shared a great story about her chive garden and the sleeping bees in the garden. Ask her about that. My sweetie had the fish and frites. Another fine meal. My husband and I stumbled on this place while walking down First St. So glad we gave it a try and look forward to trying out more dishes! We just had a great dining experience at this quaint bistro. Our food was delicious, as you can taste the difference with the quality of fresh, local ingredients used.
