The Mountain View Mendocino’s Farm is a popular location in a chain in the San Antonio complex where there is plenty of seating and restaurant to choose from, but we still ended up going to Mendocino Farms. The ambiance with so much seating and barely anyone there for dinner(I think it is more busy during lunch) it was the perfect spot to eat. The menu had lots of veggie options which was perfect for my vegetarian mom and the food seemed really fresh. We ordered a Guava Lemonade, Tomato Soup, Chimichurri Steak and Bacon Sandwich, and The Modern Caesar Salad!

Starting with our bev. The guava lemonade was really good. It tasted super fresh and you could even feel some guava seeds at the bottom of the drink. It was tart and refreshing and they filled our drink to the brim. The Chimichurri steak and bacon sandwich was also quality. The Chimichurri was oddly really sweet and the steak was a little tough, but the dish still tasted amazing with all of its elements( the bacon, the sauces, and the roll). The salad though I wasn’t able to try was also really good with little crunchies that were unique. It didn’t seem like anything special, but the ingredients all looked fresh and delicious. The tomato soup pasty was subpar. There was no wow factor it was just plain tomato soup. There didn’t seem to be any salt added so the soup was kind of sweet and sour which I didn’t enjoy however with some bread it tasted a lot better.

Overall, Mendocino Farms for its affordability(all of the dishes and drinks I described ended up being $45), pretty good tasting food, and great ambiance I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others and hope...

Very poor customer service. They have a very rude manager, Eric, in their Palo Alto branch. He dropped my call and did not empathize. He did not apologize so obviously I had to remind him of a basic thing you do when these things happen - empathize. Their website is so ineffective that it auto cancels orders. I placed the order the day before on their website and 11 AM, just an hour before its scheduled delivery, I got a text message that it was revised or cancelled. They could not do anything about it, did not offer any solution, and suddenly they could NOT deliver. Obviously at 11:30 now since the staff transferred my call to the manager without even explaining and the manager dropped the call, if I place a new order through Doordash, or Ubereats, there would be delays because of the time I am placing it and the hassle of having to place the individual orders again for a big group. They could not even pull up the order the first time I called and that was at 9 AM to check everything was OK. Horrible...

I would definitely avoid returning until the location figures out their operational and customer service issues.

Placed an online order for dinner, but app wouldn't allow a pickup for over an hour out. Not ideal, but would have been fine if accurate.

When we arrived, the food wasn't ready. Seeing so many upset customers waiting around should have been a clue as to the chaos in the kitchen.

After waiting and trying to get a real ETA, we eventually learned they didn't even start the order (30+ minutes after the requested time) and it would still require more waiting. The staff seemed confused, moving without urgency, and few were even waiting around.

Like many others, we cancelled the order. We were told it would need to be proceeded later on another computer and they couldn't provide a receipt. Not a good experience and it could have been handled so much better.

On the plus side, after we complained, the staff did let us take a few...

Mendocino Farms just opened this past week at the Mountain View San Antonio location and the food is great as always. The staff is still training up since it is their first week on the job but unlike other restaurants around here, they have a ton of people working in the kitchen and serving. It was busy on Saturday at 1pm when we went (we saw a lot of takeout orders too.) The dressings on the salads can be on the saltier side so I may get the dressing on the side (instead of tossed in) the next time—it wasn’t dripping in dressing or anything, but the not-so-fried chicken salad was a bit on the saltier side in my opinion (too much BBQ sauce). The quinoa kale salad was perfect. The couscous is really good too. I also like their half sandwich and soup option which is a nice light lunch—that’s what I have ordered in the past at the Palo Alto location. I’m glad they are in town and plan to visit frequently for lunch!

A popular sandwich chain in the Bay Area. I've tried some of their vegetarian items across a few locations and can say I really like it. I also really like the servers at this location - really polite and helpful folks. You can pick your sandwich, get a lemonade to go with it and enjoy it in the park outdoors. They also have outdoor seating. I've tried the impossible Reuben sandwich and the taco salad both of which are really delicious. The sandwich was a tad bit too salty. Portion sizes are decent for a hungry person. They have a variety of vegetarian and gluten free options. I don't know if the meat is halal but would be good if it was!
