The only things I have positive to say about this property is the bed was super comfortable, room was a good size, the bartender staff was super friendly, and the location was good. Now for the rest: Had a hard time getting into the room as the door knob needed to be slammed on to get it to open, our room had ants all over the bathroom, nothing like drying your face and getting the smell of piss ants and an ant in the face! There were dead ants stuck on the walls and counters not sure if from being sprayed but they were not cleaned up. The fire alarm went off at 2:30am for no reason at all! The fan in the bathroom (room 155) did not work, room looked to have water damage in a few spots probably from not having a fan to vent it. Patio door was hard to open, patio was dirty and not cleaned off, one of the blinds pieces was broke, and the fridge was super loud buzzing to the point that we had to unplug it. Also the bathroom has a corrugated door so can see into the bathroom so be aware if with someone that isn't a spouse. It's blurred but still very see through! The grounds looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in a while, hot tub (which was a big reason we chose this hotel) was dirty and not even hot, pool area didn't even look like it was open, my dad was told it closed at 7pm but then told by desk next day that wasn't true. Also a minor thing, no shampoo...two bottles of body gel and conditioner but no shampoo. Definitely was not happy with this stay! At check out we were also told we could not get a receipt of the bill and or told how much the bill would be due to booking with bookings.com. I have never had this happen with all the times booking through bookings.com or any other sight. This whole thing was ridiculous!

Overall a pretty nice hotel, with nice amenities. The pool looked pretty decent. The fitness center is well stock for cardio, but a bit on the lacking side for weights. The hotel room itself was pretty good. The wallpaper installation had flaws (but who cares right?) and the carpet was very outdated. The TV / channels was all decent. There was an ethernet port, but it was plugged into a Ruckus that wasn’t plugged in at all. The ethernet port on the floor did not work either. The internet was painfully slow (4Mbps up/down) which made being working difficult. Each floor had a filtered water station on it, however the first night mine ran out of water (which I informed them about it, and they said they’d fix it) but after two days it barely flowing water still. I would have go to different floors each time I wanted a fill up (which really wasn’t a ton). The hotel itself seemed pretty clean and nice. I didn’t utilize the pool but it looked impressive from a distance. The hotel gym was adequate, not as nice as I thought, but it was more than enough for a basic trip. There were a lot of patrons utilizing it while I was there, but not so many I couldn’t gain access to a machine. I would have expected a bit more weights though. There was significant parking spots available, but by nightfall the parking lot did fill up. Parking was an extra $15/day which I didn’t expect. Overall it was decent, the internet really needs to be sped up, especially for a hotel in the heart of silicon valley…

Where to start. We drive for hours only to arrive to pretty standard room after reserving a premium suite. They have elevators but if your room is in the front getting bags to the room is quite annoying because there's 3 steps every 20 ft so using a cart is not possible. No wheel chair access. They said as soon as the room you reserved becomes available the following day we would get a call with a room to move to. Never got the call so we basically wasted a whole day waiting to move. Then when we called there was some ridiculous excuse about a break in communication between shift managers. Not our problem. I guess I just expected more from this 4 star hotel in Palo Alto. The suite is nice with a separate living room that opens to a balcony. Unfortunately you step out to maybe enjoy breakfast on the balcony but don't go outside in your robe because your neighbor is right there 2 ft away so it definitely lacked privacy you could step over a 3 ft wall and be in your neighbors room. The view was of a building. Super weird. The robes were a nice touch and the beds and furnishings were very nice. The toilet seat had been painted and the paint was peeling. 4 stars uh not so much. At night there's police everywhere. And every left turn signal took at least 5 mins. Can't say ill be going back anytime real soon.

Let the hotel know that I was checking in early, coming in at close to 2.30pm as my flight was delayed, and no room was available because they hadn’t started to clean the rooms that were empty = as a platinum member of their reward program, I can see that they don’t care about the service they provide, and don’t even make an effort to provide me with the benefits I earned (there is nothing preventing them from cleaning the room that they know somebody is going to check in early into). The person checking me in recovered a bit by giving me breakfast vouchers but the breakfast is so underwhelming that I ended using only 1 out of 8 vouchers|- Furniture in the room is so old that you see the actual furniture through the fabric|- Ants infestation in kitchenette and living room, even after reporting it, the issue was not addressed|- The gym seems to be near, as I constantly ear what sounded like loud steps on a running machine. Whatever the source, this is certainly not what I signed for in my suite (cabana suite w/ jetted tub)|- Terrace in the suite is facing several rooms, and your curtain choices are either solid or nothing (no shear curtains), so you need to pick between having no privacy, and having no natural light. A very basic issue that should not be difficult to resolve.|- Both shower and tub in desperate need of repair/upgrade|- Shower so small that you have to turn the water off to be able to soap up. Not a bad thing in itself, water is a precious resource after all, but the shower temperature cannot be set before the water flows, so you have to turn the handle gradually from cold to hot, getting a mini iced shower each time you need to turn the water back on in the shower. Another very basic design flow that is annoying, and together with everything else, makes the stay unpleasant|- Room is cleaned but shampoo and shower gel are not replenished, I ended up having to go buy my own shower gel because the housekeeping staff would not leave any, even after reporting the issue to the front desk|- Staff forgot to give me a car pass at check-in, but instead put a note on my windshield saying that I was trespassing, and that my car would be towed|- Whatever the issue, you are on your own as nobody picks up when you call the “guest request” or front desk|- Phone not working, impossible to call front desk or guest services. No repair, replacement, or any solution provided when reporting the issue|- Unidentified smudges and stains around the bath tub, and bathroom floor|- Shower joint half out|- Many bulbs/lamps (several in bathroom, hallway, kitchenette, living room) not working (in addition to not have a general switch, or that many switches for that matter, forcing you to go turn on and off each lamp individually. After reporting the issue, and several days in the dark, literally, some of the bulbs were changed/lamps fixed but a number of them werent’t (it is no fun to try and get back to your room feeling your way through a long, dark hallway)|- Housekeeping not cleaning or changing used/dirty glasses|- Also, apparently the housekeeping I pay with my suite does not entails cleaning the shower or vacuuming carpet|- False fire alarms going off at all times (half a dozen going off in the space of two days)|- Intermittent problems with the internet|- One television working half the time, necessitating constant hard-reboot|- Definitely worth the $370 they charge for the suite|- Then waited almost a week to send me their bill, and the room had lounge drinks charges that I never ordered or consumed|- As a Platinum member renting a $370/night suite, I expect it to be cleaned regularly, trash taken out, ants infestation taken care off, multiple faulty light bulbs changed (especially after asking for it several times), the internet to work reliably, the televisions to work, the shower gel/shampoo to be replenished, the dirty glasses to be cleaned or changed, the shower to be cleaned, the carpet to be vacuumed, etc.|- None of that happens, regardless of my Platinum status (that was never recognized) but I had to fight for everything that you get without asking for in any normal hotel. Add to that the noisy 24hr gym making it impossible to sleep, the threatening notes on my car after the check-in person forgot to give me a parking card, the breakfast worthy of an underfunded school cafeteria, the old and tired furniture, the shower and jetted tub in high need of repair/maintenance, the wrong billing coming a week after...

My wife and I stayed 3 weeks in Crowne Plaza Palo Alto and we had a highly enjoyable stay in this Hotel.

This Hotel is located right on El Camino Real, the main avenue in Palo Alto, however the hotel building is embraced by lush bushes and towering trees. It is totally isolated from the bustling and noisy urban environment yet it is situated in the central hub of Silicon Valley conveniently connecting to all the communities within the Silicon Valley including Stanford University, Menlo Park, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Santa Cara and San Jose; all within 10-20 minute drive. Indeed the public bus #22, with its stop just 5 minute walk from the hotel lobby, connects passengers to all these cities.

This was the first time we stayed in Crowne Plaza Palo Alto. When we arrived in the hotel lobby we were warmly welcomed d by Louis, the Bell Captain. After a smooth checkin Louis helped deliver our lugguage to our room and also provided us a brief introduction of this Hotel. We were impressed to learn that this Hotel had a glorious history of over 60 years and Beatles used to stay at 8/F of this Hotel in 1965 luring over 3,000 fans completely blocking the Hotel for 2 days.

This Hotel is one of the largest hotels in the Southern Bay Area with over 200 rooms comprising a large outdoor pool and Jacuzzi, a well designed and decorated courtyard, a gym equipped with some technically advanced physical training machines and a huge parking lot.

Being a Diamond Elite member I felt much honor to receive an upgrade to a Junior Suite. Because of its historical heritage the layout and décor of the room was a bit outdated but everything was maintained in good conditions, clean and tidy. It was summer time the hottest month in the year the air conditioning worked very well. The bed and the armchair were super comfortable.

The room is spacious fitting with a king bed, a separate living room and a large balcony. The living room is well appointed fitting with a 3 seater sofa, an oversize tea table and a large writing desk. The balcony is also fitted with two chairs and a table and it commands a great view on the courtyard. We liked sitting at the balcony enjoying the fresh and cool morning breeze.

We enjoyed the breakfast buffet particularly the freshly cooked scrambled egg, the large assortment of fresh fruits and pastries and the fruit yogurt. We had only one small issue there was no change on the food in these 3 weeks; we had the same food for our breakfast every single day in this time. I hope there will be a rotation on the breakfast food mix in the future. We also enjoyed having a drink and meal at the bar sitting at the patio appreciating the calm and serene courtyard and starry night. The bar also offered happy hour drinks and cocktail bites between 4pm and 6pm; everything on the happy hour menu was 50% off; this was a real bargain. A guest staying at the Hotel should not miss it.

We received proficient and attentive services from all staff working at the restaurant, the bar, the front desk and housekeeping. They are all courteous and friendly. Because of my extended stay in San Francisco this time I had to send some luggage to the Hotel via FedEx. The delivery was split in 4 times the front desk still managed to keep all my luggage in an organized manner in the storage room.

My stay at Crowne Plaza Palo Alto this time far exceeded my expectation. This will be definitely my home in Southern San Francisco whenever away from home. I highly recommend this Hotel to anyone who is looking for a nice hotel in the Silicon...
