I've stayed at a lot of hotels and motels and experienced a range of levels of service. I have to take the time to document the absolutely horrible guest treatment I witnessed at this motel.||My elderly in-laws stayed here in order to visit with their Bay Area-based kids and grandkids. When my sister-in-law showed up at the motel with her two small children, the front desk manager SUMMONED my grandparents to the office - as if they were elementary school children and he was the principal - to inform them that their grandchildren were forbidden from using the pool.||When me, my wife and two kids showed up, we went to my in-laws' room. Within a couple of minutes, their room phone rang. Again, they were summoned to the office. I accompanied my father-in-law. The front desk manager, Marco, spoke to my grandfather in a shockingly rude and disrespectful manner, now telling him that even gatherings were forbidden at the motel, and that they try to keep a "nice" place for their fancy guests, implying that my in-laws and the rest of us were trash and had a lot of nerve even showing up. He even threatened to kick them out of the motel if they didn't comply.||Now, I could understand the front desk getting in the mix if my in-laws had violated any POSTED policies, but this 'no outside guests' policy isn't posted anywhere. Marco admitted it. And I could understand if they were concerned about actual bad behavior, but there wasn't any - we'd merely shown up, calmly and noiselessly.||Marco demonstrated a truly shocking lack of professionalism in the way he dealt with my kind, careful in-laws. I would even say he was discriminatory in his preemptive bad treatment of them and the rest of the family. ||This motel should carefully consider who it employs, and the manner in which it trains its staff in...
Read moreIncident 1-16-25 2:30am Pulled in after long 6hr drive. Saw the reviews, literally JUST PARKED & began gathering my stuff. Before I could even exit my car, the night watchman came over & angrily asked "CAN I HELP YOU?!? To which I replied I'm about to book a room, I just drove in from LA. To which he said "WE HAVE NO VACANCY!!!" I proceeded to ask If they had any rooms at all? He raised his voice & angrily replied "WHAT DID I JUST SAY?!?!?" I was dumbfounded! Like seriously?? Is that how you talk to people asking about a room?? I had a couple of rescue animals from LA shelter, wildfires caused a crowding issue down there. He saw my rescue animals and yelled "WE DON'T ACCEPT DOGS EITHER!!! SO LEAVE NOW!!!" His EXACT WORDS mind you. Completely UNPROFESSIONAL & INEXCUSABLE BEHAVIOR from your night employee. We're not in the hood & we're not teenagers, learn how to conduct yourself and behave while at work. He clearly has anger issues & unresolved childhood trauma, along with passive aggressiveness tendencies & antisocial behavioral patterns. Yes I know psychology. Clearly raised in a fatherless home where he was never taught manners, much less how to conduct himself in public. My question is why on earth is he working customer service at The Country Inn Motel based on his behavior??? I WOULD NOT FEEL SAFE staying at this property, much less ANY Country Inn locations just on their lack of hiring standards alone. I ended up staying at the Homewood Suites. They were extremely polite & their property is brand new....UNLIKE the Country Inn Motel. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! UNLESS YOU WANT TO DEAL WITH THIS JERK working the late / night shift. I will report this incident to corporate. Whoever is responsible for hiring this individual should be ashamed...
Read moreJust so you know they’re closing in August. The front desk man was very rude to me when I questioned if a friend could come and hang out at the hotel pool with us which I understand why not but he didn’t need to be rude. * looking at past reviews, I’m not the only one this has happened to. I’m a native from Palo Alto and I come to visit friends and family and other hotels. They’ve joined us at the pool so it’s kind of strange and unprofessional. Almost no one was staying there and my daughter and I didn’t see anyone at the pool the whole time we were there I understand the liability and that’s fine.. He basically said I could leave if I wanted to and I prepaid my room. The cleaning people were really nice I’m trying to be helpful offered to wash her comforter and weee very nice to my daughter and I. We love the pool. We’ve stayed there before. But there’s no breakfast anymore it is $200 a night which yes Palo Alto is expensive but there were stains all over the comforter and the manager told me there were not any clean ones. The mattress was quite firm. We did like having a little kitchen. It was pretty clean. Seems like they’re kind of just maybe letting things Peter out...
