Walmart Supercenter — Local services in Mountain View

PSA - YOU DO NOT NEED TO STOP AND SHOW YOUR RECEIPT AT THE DOOR!!! The "receipt check" is harassment/false imprisonment if they attempt to prohibit you from leaving the store in any way. The employee can ask and you can literally ignore them all together and keep moving AND NOT BLOCK THE EXIT for their little farce and show. They also cannot ban you for refusing receipt checks because that is opening them up to a major lawsuit about public access to retail operations and Wal-Mart corporate very much so knows this. THEY ARE NOT COSTCO (and employees of Wal-Mart attempting to say “Its like Costco” is actually opening up Wal-Mart to a lawsuit lol) and YOU DID NOT SIGN A CONTRACT AGREEING TO RECEIPT CHECKS so you are entirely in your right to not be held against your will for items you now legally own the moment your transaction was completed at the register, whether the employees of Wal-Mart believe it or not. If Wal-Mart would like to verify purchases, they need to create a contract that every customer would have a reasonable amount of time to read and sign before entering the store and completing a transaction (like Costco does). Wal-Mart does not do this so Wal-Mart doesn’t get to demand receipts before letting people leave stores. STOP GOING ALONG WITH THIS!!!! This goes for every non-membership based business in the entirety of the US.

The In-store experience of this store is somehow worse than a neighborhood walmart in selection and inexplicably feels like going to a prison cantina. It’s very obvious walmart would like to have zero customers in this store and im baffled they don’t just say that out loud instead of turning the store into a disorganized panopticon. BUT DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE STORE PICKUP. Repeatedly in the last 2 years i’ve used pickup, items are routinely given to me that are DAMAGED. And when I say damaged I mean obviously broken and most likely taken from the damages/returns bins so an employee doesn’t have to be bothered actually finding the item in the store. I’m talking packages already ripped open by their “pull here” tabs, bottles with cracked lids, broken glass and plastic. It’s lazy and obviously a widespread encouraged practice by management at this store to have it happen with so many items and so many separate occasions. The lack of availability for most items makes this walmart worthless in any value and you might as well pay more at any of the other...

Waited almost 2 years for my orientation money that Brianna failed to pay me!!!!!!!! had to take Walmart to the Labor Commissioner, Now Walmart has to pay me $2300 dollars when they could have Just payed me the $72.00 dollars they originally owed me. This is the third time I have taken Walmart to the labor Commissioner. Never again Walmart!!!!!!!!! Walmart Discriminates against older workers. The Director of the Loss Prevention Department told me I was of no use to Walmart because I have income Restrictions on Social Security Disability income. This is totally against labor laws and fair employment. If I had a Good Attorney I could sue Walmart, but I will just Move on with my life. This is why Expats are leaving the country, the Rent is to fin high and if you try to work an honest Job you get f up the you know where!!!Never again Walmart Never again This is how Walmart showed Respect to a 64 year old Disabled man Here in Mountain View California. To all the Young People working for Walmart you can certainly do better and prosper getting your education and having a Job that protects your future. Knowledge is power and don't ever forget that. I have been shopping here for years, usually in the early morning before the crowds. This afternoon, I visited the garden center looking for a specific item. I checked out after only purchasing a small cactus for my daughter and she grabbed it off the counter while I was texting my husband about the chairs I wanted to purchase but wouldn't fit in my car.

As we were leaving the garden center, the greeter asked for my receipt...well, I searched all over, through my pockets, my purse, my kid's pockets!! Couldn't find it. I told him I just checked out about 50 ft away with the cashier in view. I am so tired and scrambled by this time of day, that I wouldn't be surprised that I misplaced something so quickly. He watched me tear apart my purse and pull out every pocket and piece of paper for a $3.00 receipt. I told him to ask the cashier because she was right there...he just said "go ahead". I walked back to her and asked for a duplicate receipt, and she had it sitting right next to the register because she never gave it to me to begin with! If it was something that cost more than $3.00, I probably would have paid more attention to the receipt, but I was more preoccupied with wanting to purchase the chairs and the cactus was a complete afterthought, just something my kid picked out while we were there.

Anyways, I walked back, gave him my $3.00 receipt. It was more the fact that he did not apologize for making me go through all the trouble of looking for this receipt by dragging out every shred of paper out of my purse when the cashier never gave it to me, and him acting like I was lying about purchasing it. He was just a real jerk the way he treated us. I have been in and out of there so many times without anyone asking to see my receipt. The selective policy about checking receipts is making me go across the street to Target from now on. Walmart is such a pain to deal with, I am glad something is finally convincing me to...
