Would have given 5 stars because they deserve it based on food and atmosphere. Food is very good. But during Thanksgiving when my family dined we had an issue with the owner coming out on a few occasions to settled a bill. First got our bill, we paid it left a good tip for a buffet. Before anyone collected the bill, owner came out saying we need to rerun your bill and charge you 20%. The waitress forgot to do this. After she came back and dropped off the new bill, I had time to sit and think about it. I was quite upset. First I don't like anyone telling what I HAVE TO TIP. I've always been a fare tipper. 20% for a few drinks is awful. 28 bucks for 4 adults and two children is not good. The owner came back two more times explaining her position. Saying we wouldn't be able to have servers if we didn't,.. (other places do). Or waitress buses their own table.(so do other places). But other don't put 20% on your tab when your served let alone a buffet where you serve yourself. Plus the fact nobody was told. I don't typically leave more the 10% for buffet but we did 15% because it was Thanksgiving. But I guess the greedy needed more. Brick street had a nice meal served for 20. We opted for the 25 buffet and felt quite taken advantage of.. so much for trying to go out for a holiday rather then cook which we usually do. Blind side with out being told was hard to stomach. Had we known in advance I might have been irritated but it would have been my choice. After you eat and get a bill the choice you no longer have. I hate to rant but it really rubbed me the wrong way, especially for a place...
Read moreWent for my Husband's and his twins birthday, and my steak and my brother in laws steaks were mixed up. I sent mine back (wanting rare, received well) they brought another steak and it was cooked more than the first one. They even went as far as to say "its pink." But pink isnt rare. Then she said they cant make certain stakes due to food laws... except my brother in law received a perfectly rare steak. The second steak I received was cooked further than the first one. The birthday discount they offer is really cool (your age % off but it has to be your actual birthday). A salad wasn't received on time and neither was the broccoli. The restaurant itself is clean and relaxing looking. My meal was $29. I'm not sure why the cook was so inconsistent in the preparation of a $30 cut. That's insane. I ended up sending the second meal back, and decided not to order again. Blondies did not charge on my meal. But I didn't eat it, so... that's fair. In my opinion, they should just remove steak from their menu altogether. They do offer a gluten free menu so that's trendy. Also, there was a issue with Apple Pay. Several people said they didn't take it, but we called in advance to make sure they did. In the end, between 3 different people they realized they do, in fact, take apple pay. But it was a still little embarrassing and caused a bit of a stir. Perhaps they just had a bad night, but I probably won't visit them again.
The side salad was...
Read moreWell it's a well rounded local restaurant in flint that was rated the best. It is very good but service needs some improvement. I was here with a party of 7 due to a tragedy but we came here from recommendations from the locals and they pointed my family to this restaurant. So far food was decently delicious. I had shared the Alfredo pasta and it was good. The cheese in the Alfredo was creamy but the pasta was good but missing a certain texture to give it a wow factor for the pasta. The marinated chicken was actually very delicious however in a good way I was expecting a big portion like most restaurants especially coming from Chicago but then again my order after losing weight was just enough to satisfy my appetite. Ambiance was like a lodge cabin feel and Alot of jolly locals what is weird in my group is the expectations of the portions to what we imagine what we get on the menu. My niece's husband tomato vegetable soup was far generous portion than my 1 chicken marinated breast which thus the 4 out of 5 stars. Otherwise a very good restaurant just a bit quirky in regards to expectations and portion sizes somebody has a hearty appetite then I would advise them to ask how big the portions are if your dining room and you're out of Flint and from another city or town. Our server forgot certain condiments for some of my family members which is why I also brought the subject of the service needed some improvement. Otherwise they...
