This restaurant location is a joke! My husband and I just moved to Murfreesboro a few months ago and this was always our favorite "date night" spot back home, however the experience, food, and hospitality is NOT the same here! Let me start by saying that we have given this location THREE tries in hopes that they were just having a bad night, but tonight was the last straw for us. It is Fathers day and I wanted to take my husband out to celebrate with our daughter. When we arrived we were seated promptly and the server was great, however the food and the manager were opposite! My husband ordered a T-Bone medium and received an under cooked, RAW piece of meat that was bright red. I ordered a medium well steak and received burnt, well done steak, not to mention our Mac and cheese was NOT cheesy and tasted like rubber. When we asked for a manager to explain this and show the raw meat, Jeff Kean came over. He did not seem empathetic nor apologetic in any way that this happened and we were very dissatisfied, but rather asked "what do you want me to do" as if there were many options!! We were appalled, but it seems every manager is this way here since last time we visited, they ruined my husbands steak by over cooking it and this was the same response and attitude we received. Jeff acknowledged that the steak was RAW in his own words and simply offered a remake, which by this time is was 15 minutes to closing and we just knew it wouldn't be the same. We decided to just leave after the rudeness we encountered and it seemed he didn't want our business anyways. Each time we have been here, our order has NEVER been correct, which says a lot about their cooks, but the managers JOB is to correct the issue and at least show some compassion. After we decided to leave, he never came to the table to apologize nor offer any type of gift card/free meal for next time (not that we would go back, but its the principle) which shows he just wanted us gone! Longhorn is still on my top favorite, but we will definitely be driving to Smyrna for our service from now on. PLEASE AVOID this location unless you want undercooked, raw meat or...
Read moreThis was our second time to Longhorn, our first experience was wonderful. After this experience, we are not sure if we will return. Shrimp appetizer good but warm not hot. Still okay. Salads, fresh and crisp. Chicken and ribs tasty. Brussel sprouts delicious the other sides were good. Filet and lobster tail not as ordered, second order on point. You go to a steakhouse for steak. Everything but the steak was good. Two porterhouse steaks were terrible. Tough to cut, sinewy, not that tasty. Would not order again. My dog got the bone and had a rough time of it. Every business can have an off day, that is understandable. How they handle that is the true mark of of any establishment. Today, Longhorn was lacking. We commented to the waitress about the steaks and got a blase response. In such cases, the manager usually approaches the table and inquires about the issue and strong apologies are given. Sometimes a price adjustment is offered maybe a free dessert or coffee. Nothing, no manager, no offer of recompense, nothing. I could not hazard a guess who the manager could have been. To be sure, we would not have accepted anything, that is not what we were looking for. afterall, we did eat the steaks, although it was not an overly pleasurable experience. The servers worked hard and were cheerful that was noticeable, but still seemed harried. As an aside, although helpful and amounts to pennies on the dollar. I do not appreciate when the establishment figures the tip for you and it is after taxes. That appears...
Read moreWe just visited Longhorn in Murfreesboro for two of my friends’ birthday dinner. The place was packed, I give it that. BUT, our server was not at all excited nor in tune with us. I’ve served before, and regardless of wether the restaurant has a two hour wait or two guests in the dining room, insuring that your guests are attended to and feel welcome and appreciated is of utmost importance and a necessity. Five out of six of us ordered steaks (two filets) and all came over cooked. We let the waitress know and she was very dismissive, but said she will send the manager over. Once the manager came, he once again was not too attentive and asked if something didn’t come out right. We informed him of the issue, and he offered to order us new steaks, that would probably take another hour of waiting to receive. We declined letting him know that we were too hungry to wait and we had movie plans to make it to. We half ate our food and when we got the check, there was no comp on any of the steaks. It baffles me that none of the steaks were comped or at least discounted. We go to Longhorn for good steaks and it’s just a disappointment and a let down when you don’t get what you expect and what you’ve grown accustomed to at this restaurant. Even more disapointing is the lack of accommodation and appreciation of customer and value of food quality and consistency on the restaurant’s part. I truly feel disappointed and I can’t say that I would go back...
