Some friends and I went to try out the newly opened Miller’s Ale House next to the Stones River Mall. This place is huge with two large bars and if you don’t have a good view of a TV in this place, you’re probably sitting in the parking lot! For starters we went with the pan fried Potstickers/Pork dumplings with the sweet Thai chili sauce…they were good and the sauce had just enough spice to make the dish enjoyable. The fried calamari was really good…love the small rings and the dish went well with the sweet Thai chili sauce and a side of ranch.
I decided to try the Pork Osso Buco based on the recommendation from Stephanie. I have enjoyed Lamb Osso Buco so I was anxious to try a pork version of the dish. As you can see in the picture…beautifully presented dish. A huge marinated pork shank that they slow cook by steaming the shank, then dropping it into a deep fryer to add a crust to the shank. For sides I went with the mashed potatoes and brown gravy, coleslaw, and added a salad. The pork shank was fall off the bone tender and the sauce drizzled around the meat really complemented the pork. The potatoes were good and the coleslaw was excellent…love a solid mayo-based coleslaw. Overall…this dish was exceptional!!! The salad was huge and could have fed two people…if you want a salad with your meal go with the side salad.
My friends went with the Mahi-Mahi…good flavor but slightly overcooked. The fish was on the thin side so it wouldn’t take much to put it on the “well” side. The other main course was the special 12oz Prime Rib that was perfectly cooked and quite flavorful.
The only hiccup was we never got the onion rings we ordered, but honestly we had more than enough food!
Thanks to Stephanie who gave us a lot of information on how the dishes were prepared and what to try. She will be heading back to New York as she was here to assist with the opening. Our waiter Darius did a great job and kept the food coming while clearing away all of the empty plates.
This place is much more than a bar and “bar food” and for a Thursday night they were packed. The menu is extensive and so far extremely well thought out and the preparation resulted in some great food. There’s a lot of options here to pretty much satisfy the palate, and of...

Read moreTL; DR- Place is clean with nice mood lighting, lots of big screens to watch the game of your choice, great service, food is delicious and decently portioned but may be too salty for some. You should make sure the sauces in the to-go boxes have lids.
My friend, who is a Murfreesboro local chose this place for dinner last week, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was clean, well maintained and was very inviting. Loved the warm lighting effects (although the light above our table kept flickering - my friend was annoyed by it).
Nice big screen TVs everywhere, so this would be the perfect spot to watch any game.
Our server, Riley, was fantastic - pleasant, attentive, and she seemed to really enjoy her job. We will ask for her when we return ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
My friend ordered the Ceasar salad and I the Chicken Parmesan Alfredo...my buddy enjoyed his salad and beer with no complaints, and my entree was delicious, hot, and well seasoned.
The chicken was juicy, had a nice crispy crust that was full of flavour, and the portions were large enough that I had plenty to take home for a tasty next day treat. Salty yes, but not overly so - I like salty food so what is perfect for me might be too much for someone else.
The buttery garlic bread was yummy, not too hard and just the perfect amount of crunch and chewiness.
The Alfredo pasta was rich, creamy and a nice counterpoint for the crisp chicken (although having a veggie on the side would've been nice to break up the heaviness...next time I will order some).
I ordered the donut holes dessert to go -they were delightful after warming in the microwave for 40 seconds...soft, warm and decadent with a choice of 3 different dipping sauces (regular glaze, caramel/butterscotch, fudge) My favourites were the caramel and the regular glaze, the fudge was a little too heavy and had a slightly unpleasant aftertaste). One small issue - only the fudge dip cup had a lid - the other two sauces didn't have lids and spilled all over the bottom of the box.
😔
Overall, a great experience and I will suggest Miller's when my friend wants to go out again!
