This place is in my top tier places for escape rooms! I've done a handful of other escape rooms in the area near me and let me tell you that the polish and production at 60 Minute Escape Games is top notch. (I'm pretty sure Frankenstein is in my list of top 3 rooms!) I don't want to give anything major away but each room we did had puzzles and decor that I had never seen before in an escape room of that size. Victor, who hosted Frankenstein the Awakening, was an amazing host and Cynthia, who hosted Pharaoh's Chamber was really helpful as well. The hosts give you the right amount of "light" hints (hints that push the game along without the players having to ask) to help you surpass any technical issues you may encounter with the puzzles. If you're a hard core escape room artist I'm sure you could ask them to do less "light" hints, but for me it was nice that an escape room focused more on the experience instead of just watching you struggle for 15 minutes because of something small like speed or wrong alignment. (As Victor said to us, "I won't give you a hint ulness you've already solved the puzzle. I'm just making sure you're getting the reward!")
My only warning: some of the spaces are TIGHT and HIGH. It was necessary to be in a somewhat tight space for Frankenstein but Pharaoh could be completed without everyone having to squeeze or climb. Do bare this in mind when picking a room to play. (They do a good job of mentioning these obstacles on their website when looking at the room descriptions, so this is just me basically confirming the warning on the website.) Nothing ever felt dangerous or unsafe. Just tight and tall lol.
If this is your first time in an escape room it might be a tough one but for sure it will be one...
Read more*update... I had originally given them a 2 star review but then I had the "privilege " of being called by the owner. After he rambled on and on and on about how he instantly knew it was his employee that he had brought over from another business he owns. That he has multiple issues with customer complaints about this employee... but he is just a great guy if can tolerate him for a couple hours, then you'll see that the employee is only kind of a jerk. The owner then offered me a whopping 30% off to come back and experience his unpleasant staff again. When I mentioned that was kind of insulting, he then said " I would give away a 100 free visits if that's what it takes" (I guess he saves that for the good customers). Maybe he will offer you one of those 100 free rooms after you experience his "great but troubled" staff. The owners response below to this is is the classic half truth and token apology to try and sugar coat this. DEFINITELY GO SOME WHERE ELSE!
The room was good, the staff sucked. Arrived and told the guy behind the counter I had a reservation but couldn't remember for which room as we had looked at a lot of them. I asked what the room options were and he rudely told me I had zero options. When I repeated that I had already paid for a room he changed his tune and tried to back pedal but the damage was done. If we didn't have the kids with us we would have left at this point but we stayed and it got worse. Then I was rudely told by another employee that I needed to move so the last group could take a picture. There are other escape rooms I would advise...
Read moreMy friends and I came to try this escape room based on their many positive reviews and rewards. For one of my friends, this was their first escape room experience ever, so we chose the Fallout Room. I have done a handful of rooms before and was excited to share this experience.
Unfortunately, the Fallout Room wasn't all it was cracked up to be! Spoilers ahead for the room, if you decide to try it anyway. There were many technical issues with the room that made it incredibly frustrating to play. We were constantly getting the right idea but unable to progress because of a technicality. For example, one puzzle involved putting books in a certain order on a shelf - we solved this puzzle, nothing happened for five minutes, so we asked for a clue. The books were correct, but weren't pressed against the wall "flush" enough to trigger the next event.
A door to the next room didn't open at all when triggered, and a game master had to come in and lead us to the next section through the hallway.
We ultimately did finish the room, with many more technical difficulties, only to have our gamemaster at the end make patronzing remarks to us that this was "the easiest room" and we "barely made it." It was so insulting when it was their poor game design that kept wasting our time.
We won't be coming back. I hate to leave a poor review for a local company, and truly, I rarely do leave poor reviews - but this was such a not-fun experience. I hope their game design improves in the future. And their gamemasters are kinder to their patrons, especially...
