When I first bit into the piping hot English ham and cheese sandwich at Through the Grapevine, I expected a simple, comforting bite. Instead, I embarked on an epic journey of flavors and textures that left me wondering if I'd just consumed a meal or perhaps experienced a culinary love story. I’m afraid an affair with this sandwich has just begun, and curiously I’ve never felt more alive.
First, I’ll praise the bread, the vessel in which the sandwich was delivered was as precious as a newborn panda bear. An English muffin more specifically was toasted to perfection, it had the ideal balance of crunch and chew, like a well-prepared speech that starts with a bang and ends with a round of applause. It held the sandwich together with a firm yet gentle embrace, not unlike a bear hug from your best friend.
The ham was a revelation. Thinly sliced and generously layered, it was like the lead actor in a blockbuster film—charismatic and impossible to ignore. The smokiness of the ham played a harmonious duet with the melted cheese, creating a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, but better if that’s even possible.
And oh, the cheese. It wasn't just cheese; it was a gooey masterpiece of dairy delight. Melted to the perfect consistency, it wrapped around the ham like a warm, velvety blanket on a cold winter's night. It stretched with every bite, a playful reminder that sometimes, the best things in life are a little messy.
The sandwich came with a side of pasta salad that may have altered the trajectory of my life, but only time will tell. A tart and tangy counterpart that balanced the richness of the main event. This pasta salad wasn’t just an afterthought; it was the zesty comic relief in this delicious drama, cutting through any heaviness with it’s sharp wit and delightful charm.
In conclusion, the hot ham and cheese sandwich at Through the Grapevine is more than just a meal—it's a culinary experience that will make you laugh, cry, and possibly propose marriage to your plate. Whether you're looking for comfort food or a delightful adventure, this sandwich is a must-try. Just be prepared to fall in love at first...
Read moreI have been a customer of TTG for years. I have been coming since I was young, and never really had an issue, but today was different. The food was wonderful as always, BUT the service was very rude. My co-worker called to ask some questions, and the person on the phone was very hateful, and you could hear her frustration (with him just asking a question) through the receiver and I was several feet away from him. Then, when we went in we were not greeted with a hello or anything, we were just looked at, which is very out of the way, and it was the owner who had answered the phone and did not greet us. I was just very discouraged because I love TTG, but the service today was lacking, and I took people who had never been there before, and who will never be back due to...
Read moreI had both my wedding ceremony and wedding reception at Through the Grapevine in Murfreesboro. The whole experience was amazing. Barbara helped with literally everything. She helped us decorate, fine the perfect arrangements for the room, she supplied our food (brunch themed) and made sure everything ran smoothly. She allowed us to come the night before the wedding and helped us set up the room perfectly. The day of the wedding she made sure things ran smoothly and made sure the food never ran out. I definitely recommend having your small, intimate wedding here. I had about 30-40 people and it was perfect. The building and the adjoining cafe were also PERFECT for pictures! Highly...
