We were sat in a back corner booth which we wanted a booth so it was fine. We were asked by the host what we wanted to drink and then our server came around to ask us the same thing when she finally answered us she then asked what we wanted to eat we told her we needed just a minute. When she came back to get our order we asked nicely if the waters we asked for with lemon if they could bring said lemon. She took our order and didn’t check on us till our food came out. My friend ordered a bean burrito and stated that she can’t have beef due to allergies and they brought her out a cheesy beef burrito. They then got mad at my friend when she told them she couldn’t eat the burrito due to the beef and then they brought her out an ice cold bean burrito. My quesadilla was fine but my rice was under cooked. They asked if we wanted more chips and never brought any out and ignored us when we would ask for things. We also asked for our check three times and finally got asked if we wanted refills after we asked for the check. As someone who works in a restaurant serving I understand some nights are rough but they aren’t busy and the surveys just couldn’t be bothered. Personally I won’t be eating here again there are so many better Mexican...
Read moreLa Cocina is impressively bad. It lacked any real ambiance of merit, but most Americanized Mexian restaurants do, so that really wasn't a surprise. The real crime was the food. I ordered enchiladas with rice and beans, my fiancee ordered the chicken chimichanga and a chicken and cheese quesadilla. The chimichanga was requested NO guacamole or sour cream, yet came with both, and despite repeated assurances that the chicken and cheese quesadilla only had chicken and cheese on it, it came ith mushrooms and tomato. In order to eat the quesadilla, my partner had to scrape all the offending ingredeints off, then pour on the (thin and not particularly flavorful) queso dip we had also ordered, in order to compensate for what the dish was lacking in cheese. The chimichanga had chicken so dry it was a wonder there wasn't a draught warning with it... and as for my food, it was bland and overall unremarkable. It was a huge waste of $30 for lunch, and when we were ready to pay, there was no one in the front of the house for a solid 15+ minutes. We will definitely never go back. But hey, their sweet...
Read moreWe have always enjoyed this place until our last visit. To start things off there were ants in my daughter's water glass. We told the waitress and her reply was simply, "yeah sorry about that. We have ants in the kitchen." They have good chips and salsa, and we always ask for their hotter salsa to mix in with the regular salsa that they bring to the table. We have done this every single time that we have visited. This time, however, they decided to charge us $5 for two little bowls. When I asked them about this, they took it off of the check but did not answer why they would charge us for it. Our daughters chile relleno was room temperature at best. There were only maybe 10 guests in the entire restaurant, so I'm not sure why that would be. We wanted to order a pitcher of beer, yet the waitress said all the taps were down so we ordered bottles instead. Not 10 minutes later another waitress brought a pitcher of a beer to the table next to us. Go figure. We drive over a half an hour to visit this restaurant. Sadly, I think it's time to look for...
