Tap 216 — Restaurant in Murray

I love this place. I go every time I come home. But this time was 50/50. Food has always been excellent from the fries to the burgers to the wings. Went yesterday got my normal 16 wings extra crispy hot tap style (fried then grilled) anyone who knows me knows I know good wings. Everything that came out was great except the wings. Now I have never had bad wings here I’d put them on my top 20 list. First they were not crispy, quite rubbery actually. I asked for them to be cooked longer they came back out not much different. I told the awesome waitress I will not eat these and why. She brought the cook out not sure why and they apologized. I the cook they tasted like par baked wings which I’m not a fan of but if reheated correctly could be excellent. I wanted them crispy. He apologized asked if he could retry I said no thank you. I’ll eat the fries I ordered and 1/2 of my wife’s burger. I also gave him some advice that if they were par baked you need to drop them for 20min to make them crispy. Then toss them on the grill. Well as we were finishing up food they brought out me new wings to go. Clearly he didn’t understand what I told him. They were exactly the same.. I left them on the table. So who ever reads this you got 3 stars due to your chicken wings. If you par bake them which I’m sure you do. To make crispy wings out of them you need to re drop them for 20 min, or you could drop them fresh for 15 min. Your call. Now to anyone reading this don’t let my review discourage you from this place the food is really good. The burgers while being small are excellent. Fresh cut fries amazing. Please fix your wings and I’ll be back if they are up to par I’ll change my review and rating. Out of the 6 times I’ve been there this is the first to be bad. If you had a contact us on your website I would have reached out to you directly before posting a review like this, but you don’t. I’d rethink that… I’d be there tonight for football after hunting. A rustic college town themed bar and restaurant with a quaint atmosphere. The friendly hosts, our attentive waitress, and the quirky and lively trivia were highlights. Unfortunately, that's about the last positive thing there is to say.

It's really a shame about the food. If we had been warned they were training new kitchen staff before we ordered the whole travesty could've been avoided. Unfortunately, we weren't told until 20 minutes had passed since we received appetizers. Service was slow to all tables, and our (again, very pleasant) waitress told us the kitchen fired dishes in the wrong order and there were 3 more tables (that ordered after ours) already being fired.

30 past being given that critical information our food came out. The kids macaroni was creamy and seasoned as well as any adult pasta dish. The medium rare sirloin was delivered as a well done ribeye (or at least an oversized slab that was 60% fat). A poorly seasoned burger and a burnt, dry Reuben rounded out the table.

Sweet cocktails from the bar (ordered to come out with the food) didn't do Tap 216 any favors. The toasted campfire cocktail tasted of nothing but syrup and liquid smoke, and the seasonal Maple Bourbon Old Fashioned had no maple flavor, and neither the apple cider or cinnamon stick; in short, it was an unsweetened old fashioned with cheap bourbon and...

We've only been here twice. The first time was good. It's been about 6 months since we came the first time and wow, what a difference. First off our server was super nice! The appetizers are great, but that's where it ended. My son got the $30 steak, more than half was fat. The fries were so dry he couldn't even eat them. We didn't even say anything because we had already complained about my salad, which came missing ingredients. It's a $12 salad and came out the same size as the side salad. Then our meals came out, with everyone's missing sides. Then the wrong.aidea brought out. It was like everyone was high they had no idea what they were doing. The guy that brought the wrong sides could hardly see out of his eyes because he was so high. I don't care what people do in their own lives but if you can't work high, please don't be high. We had regular menu items with no substitutions or specials. We were here at 5:45 and there were only 3 other tables, so it's not like they were busy. Should have been super simple.
