Please note that this review is for their Chinese food side of things. Apparently their Sushi side has elicited several glowing reviews, and since we do not partake in Sushi we can not say a thing. The place is well decorated, and the sushi table where they prepare the food has a rotation belt, quite unique and advanced at the same time. As stated we only ordered from their Chinese Menu. Once again desiring good Chinese food and after reading the positive reviews in Yelp (almost 5 Stars), we ventured into their place. Place was almost deserted at close to 8 PM, and was hard to believe they stay open until 10 PM according to Yelp. Staff was dressed in black, very modern, and the place looked like a pretty penny had been invested in its development. The following dishes were ordered for take out: Miso Soup, $1.50. Just your average Miso Soup, no more no less, container was the size of a small serving. 3 Stars. Won Ton Soup, $2.95 each, we ordered 3. The broth was dark brown but very thin, almost water like but with a tasty flavor. 3 won tons were to be found inside, and one rather small curly shrimp, which we were about to find out, appeared in every selection that included shrimp, really a midget of a shrimp but curly, so it was good looking. The won ton was not flat, it had filling and tasted okey. Broth the winner. 3.5 Stars. Egg Drop Soup, $2.50 each. Decent enough, it seems that this kind of soup is really not that hard to make, and this one was no different than many others tried. 3 Stars. Crispy Spicy Chicken, $12.95. This one had spices and supposedly would be fried to a crispy texture, but it was not so. This first main entree, and expensive for what it was, did not impress any one in a group of 4. Average all the way. 3 Stars. Triple Delight, $12.95. Fresh mixed vegetables and chicken breast, sliced beef, shrimp stir fried in black sauce. An absolute disappointment, once again with the miniature curly shrimp adorning the dish, really skimpy in the meats, overall taste making me wish I never bought it. 3 Stars. Combination Chow Mein, $9.95. Thick, unsavory noodles with so little anything else, that it really was rejected and labeled a culinary mishap. By now we already new that their Chinese side of the cuisine was lacking more and more. 2 Stars. Shrimp Fried Rice, $8.95. Rice gooey, clumpy, like if it was baked instead of fried as it is supposed to be done, midget curly shrimp which by now we were wondering if it was a larger shrimp cut in such small pieces, barely any shrimp at all, no flavor in the shrimp, a cost saving crustacean most likely with no redeeming qualities. 2 Stars. The place looks great, the staff well dressed, and the ambiance pretty good for this area. Perhaps, as I mentioned, their Sushi side is the real winner in the tale of this place, because their Chinese side, besides being a tad expensive, lacks the quality and flavor of better Chinese food. Total take out bill: $65 plus. First and definitely last...
Read moreI visited this establishment twice in the past week or two. The interior decor is nice, and the server staff is friendly, but the food tasted like it was tainted with chemicals and/or cooked with water from a freshly cleaned toilet bowl. The first time I visited this restaurant, I was greeted from a sushi chef from behind his counter. After I waved back, he turned away in a shunning manner. Thankfully, the caring greeters, servers, and staff did a good job of sending me to a booth in a fairly private area of the restaurant. I ordered some sushi that day, and if it didn't taste like the sushi was made by someone who washed their hands with toilet bowl cleaner, it was topped with a dab of a sauce that might have been made with water from a freshly cleaned toilet bowl. The small bones in the pieces of sushi that I ate were not a problem for me since I recognized it. After a man with an apron peered at me from the back of the restaurant, I figured that it was time to go. I returned about a week later to try some of the Chinese cuisine that I saw on the menu and recognized in the name of the establishment. I was very disappointed to taste a bowl of noodle soup that tasted like it was made with water from a freshly cleaned toilet bowl. The duck tasted like it was from a Covid-19 wet market, and the sweet chili dipping sauce that was served with it tasted like it was made with the same freshly cleaned toilet bowl water. They were cheeky enough to serve the sauce dip on a two piece plate, one side of the plate had sauce that was tinged brownish, and the other side of the plate had sauce that was yellowish, like I went there expecting to eat someone's waste. I sure am glad that I received a covid vaccine before...
