Not very pleased with our first experience at The Chef's Grille. The service was not very good, it took about an hour to get our food after we ordered, then on top of it, they got two of our orders wrong. After eating, we ordered dessert, but we were barely finished eating our dessert when we were asked to leave because they had another party coming in, yet there were other tables available. Considering we were there for two hours, and it took an hour to get our food, not to mention dessert afterwards, I felt like we were rushed out right after our dessert. So I would say that the customer service was not very good. Find another place to eat where you are treated better as a customer.
Chef Marty, I do appreciate your response, thank you. Being in business and dealing with customer service myself, I understand that when a customer is not satisfied, we listen, diffuse, and try to make things right, (even if we feel that the customer is wrong), as this will often create some of our most loyal customers because they feel like they are being heard and their concerns are being addressed. We don’t try and place the blame on them. The fact that you knew what my review was in reference to, tells me that you were aware of the problem, as my name was neither on the reservation or the credit card used to pay for our bill. We appear to have a difference of opinion as to how long it took to receive our order, and as for the mistakes on our order, you addressed one, but I had actually ordered short ribs and got pot roast instead, but for the sake of time I chose not to return it. We were NOT made aware of or “communicated” in any way about a time request on our table. As a matter of fact we were not even told about that until they started picking up our dishes as we were finishing our desserts. We do plan on returning to your establishment in the future, as we know that first impressions may not always create an accurate representation of an establishment. We hope to have a better...
Read moreHaving been twice now to The Chef's Grille, I feel absolutely confident in saying that it is one of the best places to eat in South County. The menu is truly extraordinary. You might think that, considering the size of the menu, it couldn't all be good. If you thought this, you'd be wrong.
The three dishes I've eaten -- the Grilly Philly (Cheesesteak), the Hamburger, and the Chocolate Chip Cookie -- are fantastic. The Grilly Philly is loaded with flavor, the meat is tender and well seasoned, the saute'd mushrooms are flavorful and perfectly textured, and the garlic aioli is just wonderful. I didn't even know that it was possible for something as simple as an aioli to be so good. Maybe it was its combination with the rest of the ingredients? I don't know. The bread is also perfect with the combination of ingredients contained therein.
Next up is the Hamburger. The real star of this dish is the bacon marmalade, which just kicks the whole burger up a notch. It's sweet and a little savory, and it just melts in your mouth. The patty itself is exceptionally cooked.
It should be noted that both of the above dishes are served with seasoned french fries, and let me tell you, these fries are amazing. They are perfectly crispy on the outside, and perfectly creamy on the inside. The fries are up there in my top 3 french fries of all time.
The Chocolate Chip Cookie is the size of a small dinner plate. Seeing it, you'll think to yourself "I can't eat this whole thing! It's absurd!" And then 5 minutes later it's gone, because you've eaten it all.
The service is also top-notch. The friendliness, expedience, and accuracy are very well appreciated. It is also clear that, just based on the service staff's food recommendations and the way that they talk about the food, the staff enjoy the food just as much as I do.

Read moreWe arrived during the lunch hour and it was very busy. It took about 10 minutes to be seated. We were first seated at a very small table for two, but Monica graciously accommodated our request for a larger table. We wanted to try a few dishes so that mini table wasn't going to work. We ordered the porkadillas as our appetizers and they were very good. They're like quesadillas but with a semi crispy tortilla and well seasoned pork and spices inside. It was served with a side of bbq sauce. For our main entrees we ordered the braised beef ribs (very tender and so delicous), adult mac n cheeze (the smoked meats on top were amazing, the mac n cheeze it self was good but could be slightly improved...i.e. quality of the cheeses used), Popeyes day out salad ( so delicious....the pecans and berries were a fabulous combination with the greens and the apple vinegrette was wonderfully yum!), the Lamby dish was tasty at first but then not so good..but mainly because of that common lamby lamb after taste of lamb....) I'm not a huge lamb fan anyway so next time will opt for something else. We also ordered the red Sangria (very light and refreshing! We had 2!!) I want to thank Monica for her standard of excellence with customer service! I also want to thank the owner for the comfortable background music choice and for coming out to greet the customers personally! Nice touch. We will definitely be back. Looking forward to the next featured items. Kudos to the chef team cooking it up behind the scenes....
