At first everything seemed to be above standard, as what you would expect from such a new hotel.
I don't know what the deal is with their smoke detectors however on 3 separate occasions it had went off on its own.
One time was from my girlfriend straightening her hair. Then from microwaving a digorno microwavable pizza. Finally, when I was ironing my shirt for the following morning.
Each time time we received a call from the front desk asking I'd everything was okay in which we explained the situation.
The following morning we got a knock on our door at 8 am from a guy weilding a ladder saying he needs to check out the fire alarm. Being still in our sleepwear we asked for a few minutes. The man walked in and spent the entire time looking at our belongings in the room. When he got just below the fire alarm he picked a little chunk of deodorant that had broken off from the stick examining it closely. Barely glanced at the smoke detector which still had solid red lights. Then proceeded to tell us that we were wrong about our claim that those lights had been on since the first time it went off two nights prior and accused us of smoking cigarettes and that he could smell them. For one, I do not smoke cigarettes at all. We quickly deny his accusation and he leaves.
Shortly after we receive a call on the room phone from the front desk asking what would be a good time for someone to come by and reset the alarm. We agreed on noon.
Noon comes by and it's the same "technician" or "maintenance man." Weilding the same ladder and not one tool on him he claims that we need to be out of the room for 30 minutes while he resets the smoke detector. During his previous walk-through his eyes were studying all of our belongings rather than the smoke detector. The front desk did not say some strange man was going to be in our room unattended for 30 minutes. Every other hotel I've ever been to. When a room needed some sort of service done not once has it been required that we need to leave the room while it was being serviced. I tell him that we were not notified of anything like that and I do not feel comfortable with a stranger being unattended in the room without anyone being here. Once again this man has no tools, just a ladder. He says that the fire department will have to come and remove me from the room to reset it. That's if I don't allow him to be in the room unattended. I tell him that the best I can do is wait in the entry way by the bathroom with the door open. This still wasn't good enough for him. Annoyed I stood out in the hallway with the door ajar listening and he did not even undo the ladder to touch the smoke detector and was in the room for a matter of 3 minutes.
This was an absolutely bizarre experience. I've had belongings stolen from my room from housekeeping at other establishments and I'll be damned if I let that happen again.
Whatever this man was in my room to do it had nothing to do with our smoke detector. How did a task that was supposed to take 30 minutes now magically be finished in a couple minutes?
I believe he had every intent to rifle through our belongings if not that his purpose seemed to be of malicious intent.
Never have I ever heard of reseting a smoke detector being such a "safety hazard." That all occupants must be vacated from the room.
Experience had red flags written all over it and whatever that man did was not in the best interest of serving...
Read moreYou know I tried to let it go but it's been eating at me. I've stayed here so many times in fact this week alone I rented a king suite for 4 days and then another room with twin Queens for 2 days. This is My sixth day and third time checking in, My day's already frustrating enough because I I'm having to stay another night away from my home, I don't mind the rates doubled I understand it's a weekend and you guys are getting booked up I get it and it's not about that, it's about the way you talked to your guests over snacks, I've had nothing but good experiences from everybody here over the last 5 years that I've lived here. This is the only time I truly felt so off put that I not only regret checking out here but will seriously question ever coming here again in the future not to mention the guests that I have that come into town quite often. If you're going to sit there and act like that over two bags of chips and some Gatorade when I've spent over $1,000 here is really disrespectful. We weren't going anywhere I was going to get a room and you already knew that they were sitting in the lobby waiting for me to pay for a room so I can put the drinks onto that room but for you to sit there and make me pay for them and walk up to them disrespectfully and say that's not what we do here that's not how we handle it as if they're about to steal it or something or they did something wrong. These are your guests that are staying in your hotel that are paying you money that are going to pay for the damn drinks, it's a little girl my daughter and my fiance and you're going off on them over them having chips that they're going to put on my room but because I don't have the room yet you come up to us like that and make me pay for it separately. Shame on you you know exactly who you are and I will never be renting a room here again if you're here. I'm just disgusted with that to be honest. And the way you said my last name you and I both know you did that on purpose. Western. I don't know what school you ever went to but if you ever looked at a compass you know how to say Western and spell it. Absolutely rude and uncalled for, if your guests have a little bit of an attitude that's their right to have it is your job to be kind and polite you could have came up to me and said something Don't go up to them I told them to get it and you saw me tell them. Absolutely unprofessional especially with your manager in front of you that doesn't say anything. So for $20 which I thought was absolutely outrageous you're about to lose long time customers and all of their associates so I'm going to sleep...
Read moreIt can be a daunting mystery at times prior to entering the room you've checked-in. You'll never know what you'll get (or find, God forbid) once you enter said room. This wasn't the looming thought poking at my mind once I walked in through the door and flicked on the lights. Instead I was welcomed with a warm "thank you" on the television, a comfortable queen-sized bed and blanket ready to envelope me in a cloud of fluff, warm lights soft on the weary eyes that have been forced to stay open during a long drive, and the comforting reassurance that the cleanliness of the room brought.
These are some of the features that made my stay worry-free and comforting. There was a sufficient amount of working plugs for my laptop and phone, especially on the night stand and on the work desk. The overwhelming size of the window was perfect for allowing more light into the room, and the adjustable rolling blind made it easy to dim the room or simply create more privacy. Air-conditioning and heating worked like a charm and was able to cover most of the room quickly. Ample choices of places to eat and activities to do that are either just a short walk away or less than 5 minutes to drive to. All of this made me appreciate the comfort, convenience and cleanliness I experienced - making my stay worry-free and delightful. OH! And there's a gym, laundry room, pool, business room and public computers downstairs! And for those who love pancakes, there's an instant pancake maker as well! BIG PLUS! I'd recommend anyone to stay here if they're looking for a place that appreciates your stay by providing you with a trustworthy, kind, and professional service and a...
