Went to Bob Evans today with my husband and our two boys (1 and 3). We asked for a booth instead of a table because it would be better for our small kids, the woman who sat us walked away as she was rolling her eyes at us, snatched a wet wash cloth to wipe the table with from a different server, and cleared off a booth. Once sat, we got our drink and food orders taken quickly but it took a long time for our food to be served which surprised me because we had what I thought were fairly simple items to make (cranberry chicken salad, kids chicken tenders with a side salad, pancakes, eggs, and bacon.) when the food arrived, the pancakes, eggs and bacon were all luke warm (definiently had been sitting under the food warmer for quite a while...) and the salad in my son's side salad was going bad (some pieces were slimy in texture and brown or browning around the edges ...). Our server never came by to refill our waters (which were empty) and we honestly couldn't wait to get out of there ... As we were waiting in line to pay, the manager (Diana or Diane Hunt) said "I'll help who is next!" so being as we were next in line, we started moving to the cash register she was standing at to watch in disbelief as she muttered under her breath and walked away ... She walked to the cooks (you can see the kitchen from the front entrance way where you pay) and then looked over in our direction where we were standing in the line she called us to, and just looked away from us when she saw us looking and waiting for her. Needless to say, we will not be returning. Our first preference for breakfast was Mr. B's but opted for Bob Evans because of the shorter wait time but next time we will wait longer at a different restaurant for better...
Read moreWent in for the 4th of July. Immediately got sat, but waited over 10 mins before I ever got a server to take our drink order. It was me and my four year old daughter so she was already rather impatient for her drink and the second I was about to get up and leave is when I finally got a server to take our drink order. I saw only one other table and I could hear other staff members talking and walking around, and we still sat there forever with no service. I also work as a waitress and I understand having to wait because your server is busy but there was hardly any other business. I ordered a three course meal, waitress never brought the dessert I had to ask about it and ended up taking it to go. I could never in my life provide such awful service as a waitress nor could I as a manager allow it. I will say, food was good. Service was not. I still tipped over 20% because I don’t like messing with peoples money but she didn’t deserve the tip. Whoever the manager is, open your eyes and do/train your employees better! I don’t know how it’s possible for these chained restaurants in Muskegon to have such terrible service, this Bob Evans location is definitely...
Read moreOver the last year I went there twice , The first time our order was very messed up. We had to wait 20 minutes for our order to be corrected. The second time my pot roast had large amounts of plastic in it . I told the waitress there was plastic in it , she insisted it was onions, I asked for the manager to come over. The manager varified it was plastic. The roast comes pre made in a plastic bag and is heated in the microwave. Today my daughter wants breakfast so I order online, of course the order is very wrong, so I called and asked very nicely to talk to a manager, the person on the other end said in a very rude tone to hang on , after 6 minutes of waiting on hold I hung up and I went and returned the food for my money back. If the orders could be made right I would like there food but I don't like food that I didn't order. My job use to have them cater us once a week, we have 60 employees, Large amount of money for them, but after a few months of wrong orders, we stopped having them cater us.
