July 2025

Well well well… look who’s back! Yes, it’s us again — professional food testers on a mission to find spice, soul, and some actual service speed.

This time, we didn’t take chances. We ordered the same trusted legends: Malai Kofta and Dal Tarka, both at “Hot” spice level because we like our food — extra spicy.🔥

And oh boy, the Dal Tarka? Straight outta a Dhaba on a highway in Punjab. That smoky, garlicky punch? Chef’s kiss! 💋 Malai Kofta, as usual, melted like my patience waiting for the server.

Now let’s talk about tonight’s undisputed hero — the one and only Missi Roti. Authentic, flavorful, and bold enough to steal the spotlight. Full-on masaledar and perfectly charred — it came in like a roti with a mission. 🎯

The regular roti, on the other hand, looked like it was just there for moral support.

BUT… (there’s always a but)… Service is still slower than buffering Wi-Fi in a basement.

At this point, we’re thinking of bringing a tent next time — just in case we need to camp out waiting for our food.

07.30.2023

Same good old taste. They have changed the Menu. No Bagan Bharta anymore. Still Malai Kofta and Dal Tarka is the best choice

07.27.2019

Now this restaurant is located on a new location (already updated on google Map, so the address you are looking is right).

A bit bigger, modern and with lots of parking. Owner is the same, cook is the same.

Service is bit slow and all the servers are not much educated about Indian cuisine, so might have to struggle a lot, but the taste is worth it all.

We tried Malai Kofta and Dal Tarka on spice level Indian hot but It was on a medium, still flavorful.

07.30.2018

Another visit. This time we tried Shahi Paneer and yellow Dal at hot spice level with Paratha and Nan.

Paneer was ok but dal was very nice and Paratha is as always good.

06.11.2017

Still the same good and authentic taste. Tied Shahi Paneer today with Paratha at medium level of spice. Taste was good but it was on mild side. Try to go for hot level of spice if you want a true taste.

07.2016

Very nice food. I have not tried the other Indian Restaurant here because the food was so good I can't stop myself going there 2nd time. Try there Bharta and paratha. You will love it.

Nice deco, fast service, good test.

Not the Best one but a...

Dec 30 2023 . My recent visit to this restaurant proved to be an unparalleled disappointment. Our extensive order, spanning a variety of dishes, left my taste buds unsatisfied and bewildered. The curries lacked the fundamental elements of flavor, with an egregious absence of salt and spices. The gravies, disappointingly, resembled nothing more than diluted water, devoid of any culinary essence. The butter chicken, instead of its expected richness, exhibited an unexpected tamarind-like tang, throwing the entire dish off balance. The biryani, falsely advertised, bore no resemblance to its promised flavors; in fact, it emitted a foul odor and tasted as though it had been languishing in the refrigerator for days, a suspicion confirmed by its stale and unappealing quality. The goat and chicken curries, ostensibly promising hearty indulgence, turned out to be nothing more than insipid, watery concoctions, bereft of the anticipated robust flavors. To compound the culinary catastrophe, the chicken itself resembled a rubbery texture, further intensifying the regrettable experience. In all, this dining encounter stands out as one of the most lamentable in my entire life, a regrettable affair that has left an indelible mark of dissatisfaction and dismay. Not only did the culinary catastrophe leave my taste buds unsatisfied, but the exorbitant prices added insult to injury. The biryani, typically priced at $15, carried a hefty $20 tag, while the goat curry, usually $15, skyrocketed to an astonishing $23. Our bill, a staggering $140, was further inflated by an obligatory 18% gratuity, tacking on an extra $20. The astronomical costs were compounded by the waiter's appalling attitude during our dining experience. He displayed a complete lack of care, almost throwing the food at us, and behaved as though our meal was a complimentary offering rather than a paid service. The regrettable affair at this restaurant stands not only as a culinary letdown but also as a financial disappointment, leaving an indelible mark of...

I wish I could give him a zero rating but it is not possible for the poor quality food and the arrogant behavior of the cook. I ordered two Saag paneer and one Navaratan Korma for pickup and asked them to make it very very mild. We picked up the food an hour and half later Drove down 30 minutes to hotel and when my son started eating, he said that food was very spicy and hot. I was shocked and did not believe him and tried out myself. I can handle a lot of spices but even I could not eat it. I called the restaurant number was busy and I left a voice message asking them to call me back...nobody called for 30 minutes and then I called back again and after two or three attempts, I finally spoke to an individual who seemed to be either the cook or the owner of the restaurant. I explainedin the situation and how what we ordered versus what we got he said that this is the lowest they can do in terms of spices they do not make fresh food they already have a spicy gravy and they only do try to put sour cream and make it a mile but I know that that's not the truth because we make it all the time at home and this guy was just telling pure lies and trying to cover up...I told him that I'm the customer and I'm not happy with what I got. This guy was very rude to say the least and instead of being patient and hearing me out and coming up with a solution.. he started with abusive language and hurled abusive words at me (mother f$$$ker, son of bixxch etc etc.) that I told him that him that he should accept the mistake and accept that customer is right...He asked me "who told you that. Customer is boss or customer is right)... Conversation abruptly ended... And I had no choice but to deal with a difficult choice of making alternate arrangements or going hungry.. if you love to go hungry late in night and be abused after paying top dollars for overpriced food items that are poor quality and not what you ordered, and be ready to be insulted and abused, then please go ahead and order..else avoid it...

SPOILED food and spoiled management. We were provided spoiled chicken tandoori, it smelled literally like stale fish and tasted stale. We were a party of 16 and obviously each of us grabbed a piece and tried it out of hunger and quickly put it back once we noticed that its gone bad. We informed the manager and here was his response "We make 5 such orders and no one complained except you guys. It's not spoiled. You guys should tell us that you don't like it before you eat it". We ordered food for $300 and he was pretty much telling us we were lying for a small appetitizer. I've never seen such terrible hospitality. Just because others didn't complain it doesn't mean that we should stay silent about spoiled food that was served to us and its illogical to ask a customer to inform management that they don't like the food before even tasting it. Manger did not charge us for the spoiled food, which we truly appreciate. However, in my opinion after speaking like that to us I've lost my trust in this restaurant. Please either serve fresh food or please at least be courteous. Quantity was lesser than other restaurants but rest of the food tasted good. Due to management's bad hospitality and spoiled food we will not be returning. An automatic gratuity of 18% was added as we were a big party which is normal but the service provided was not justified. Readers please decide for yourself if spoiled food, RISKING YOUR HEALTH and being blamed by management for speaking up is worth going here.

Masala Indian Bistro: A Taste of India with a Dash of Charm If you’re craving bold flavors and warm hospitality, Masala Indian Bistro in Myrtle Beach delivers! We grabbed seats at the bar, enjoyed a cold pint of Hayward, Taj Mahal, and Flying Horse, and soaked in the lively atmosphere—complete with a cricket match on TV and two friendly hosts who shared stories of their Northern Indian roots. The Food? Tandooriffic! Our vegetable samosas came with a surprise—a cilantro-mint sauce so good it should have its own fan club. One of the gentlemen was kind enough to share the ingredients, which felt like unlocking a secret spice vault! We took home butter chicken, a spicy chicken dish with potatoes and red chilis, and fresh, pillowy naan—all ready faster than you can say “garam masala.” Clean, Cozy & Perfect for Gatherings The décor is spotless and inviting, with a private dining room for up to 10 guests—ideal for family dinners or business powwows. Best Part? The genuine warmth from the staff. They even had us laughing about an Indian cricket player’s quirky celebratory hand gesture that was part beard-stroke, part victory dance. Final Verdict: Masala Indian Bistro isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. Bahut dhanyavaad! (Many thanks!) to the amazing staff for making us feel so welcome. Aap zaroor try kijiye! (You must give it a try!)

Our visit to Masala Indian Bistro was a complete letdown. Billing Issues: The worst part? A 3.5% credit card surcharge that no one bothered to mention. These days, almost no restaurant imposes such a fee — who carries cash anymore? When questioned about the bill discrepancy, the staff casually mentioned the hidden surcharge. It felt deceptive and left a very bitter aftertaste. Food Quality: The chicken was undercooked and hard — absolutely unacceptable. The biriyani tasted like it was reheated from the day before — bland, dry, and far from fresh. Service: The service was slow. The server in the blue T-shirt had a terrible attitude, making us feel more like an inconvenience than customers. Ambience: Flies every where, half the time we were trying to Clear the flies. The only slight positive was that the restaurant stays open during extended lunch hours — but what’s the point if the food and service are both subpar? Overall: Poor food, rude service, and shady billing practices. Not worth the time or money. Will not be returning, and I suggest others steer clear as well.
