McDonald's — Restaurant in Myrtle Beach

Bear with me, I wanna make this experience very clear and consice to explain my 1-star rating. We were here on vacation and decided to pick up just 4 drinks. We only had cash, so we couldnt use the new automated machines that theu pretty much force you to use. We waited at the register for about 10 minutes and no one even checked on us or ever rang us up. My brother chose to walk over and we had to ask for someone to come ring up up and they seemed annoyed at that. We got our cups and went to fill them, but the tea was completely out and they only had 1 large lid left; no big deal though, we will just go back to the registers and get them. We asked an employee for 3 large lids and he said "I dont understand what youre trying to say let me go get a translator." Well now, were from tennessee so there might be a very miniscule accent change, but not to a point where youll need a "translator," pretty rude, McDonalds man! Then we got to speak with out translator and he said he would get the lids and tea; however, instead of handing us the lids and filling the cup, he walked all the way back over and filled the soda station and completely ignored us. He then walked back and said "you can go get your tea and lids over there." Idk why these employees didnt like us so much. My brother and I apologize if somehow we made you upset or angry by puchasing drinks, but we promise it wont happen again. My rating is one star because ive only been to one other place this awful, Panera Bread. Panera Bread is the S. Kings Highway McDonalds of restaurants. Translation: Panera...

Initial walk in the place looks nice. Cashier never cracked a smile and we are pretty friendly to people and try hard to initiate small talk and smiles. Oh well maybe a bad day..it happens. Next to no customers inside but maybe the drive thru was packed because it sure took a long time to get our food and warm fries. Hey..where is that chocolate milkshake we ordered? Yea..why not stand here and wait and let my warm fries get a little cooler. Wait..what is THAT? A shake that has a chocolate strip about an inch deep at the top and the rest is vanilla...ummm... no...not what we want. Another non smiling team member. Hubby wants a WHOLE chocolate shake. Yea I feel really confident now that you took it around the corner out of sight. Oh well..sure everything is ok. Sitting there eating I notice it seems everyone that comes in has to wait an unusually long while for their order. Again maybe that drive thru really had them backed up. Looking around I realize while it is surface clean there are some areas that are kinda gross. There are only two tables in use..that drive thru must really be keeping the team from coming into the lobby and checking things. Good grief look into the cracks of those chairs! (See photos) yikes! Ewww! All of those type chairs were that way. Some areas weren't bad but others...well. So on the way out ONE person shouted out a very friendly goodbye. All of this took place at 6pm. Maybe days are better. It was our first visit since they reopened in Surfside but I am certain we won't go back to...

This is my new review. The manager Jennifer is an asset beyond what words could describe. Since the last visit I was treated with respect, I was listened to, I was shown compassion by Jennifer when I told her about my last visit to this McDonald's. Awesome show of Concern, Awesome awesome Manager. Food was piping hot and expedited supernaturally FAST! 10's Across the board!

NICK the Manager, I would fire myself. I attended hgtc to ascertain my business degree in Hospitality Management, henceforth the reason I am a Google reviewer. I, with no hesitation in saying so, am currently homeless. Never have I experienced such a lack of compassion and a untouched spirit off raw defaulted, immediate responsive, brotherly love. I was hungry and had no money, so I waited in line to speak with the manager, off to the side of ofcoirse. I explained my position and humbly asked if he could help me with some food. Its a rarity for me to ask any person's for anything as I love taking care of people in my daily walk, my calling if you will. Clearly evident was Nick's unrequited newly acquired Managerial position of power trip. I was told without a blink on his eyes that we don't give away food for free. I said my thanks, one of those to God and left Nick's building, errrrr I mean McDonald's. I use to eat here all the time...I would travel from the northern end of Myrtle Beach just to dine here. Not any more!!!!
