Taste of Asia Buffet — Restaurant in Myrtle Beach

please read I contemplated posting this but I want people to be aware of the uncomfortable encounter I experienced at Taste of Asia in MB yesterday. My sister and I stopped for lunch- the food selection was okay and seemed fresh enough. Nothing to knock our socks off but okay so we dined in. At first glance I thought it was strange that the waitress would follow us to the buffet line seemingly monitoring the food we selected, but I didn’t say anything because I was eating everything I selected - not like we were wasting food. Multiple times she would come and stand by our table and it felt like she was trying to listen to our conversation. Again, we brushed it off, the check came and I paid with my credit card, but I have been taught to only leave tips in cash so they aren’t taxed, so I wrote CASH in the tip line, paid the bill, was getting into my purse to pull out cash for the tip and while doing this my sister who was my lunch date, stood up and started gathering her things because we were leaving. As I went to place the money on the table and stand up (we were not even remotely walking out) the waitress came over to my sister and raised her voice (the language barrier made it hard to understand) but I made out “Tip Tip Tip” my sister said “yes she is getting it out” and the waitress like cornered us and was looking into my purse asking me how much we were tipping. It was so uncomfortable and she kept yelling. I said yes I am laying it on the table? The waitress shook her head and said “Tip Tip Tip” - I waved the money so she could see I had it and she took it from me and finally left us leave. I was humiliated and also felt like I had been robbed- I gave her a $20 mistakenly when my bill was only $30 total, but I was so disoriented and flustered that I didn’t care and just wanted out of there. Eventhough 5 stars for atmosphere and items to eat, Keep ALL rice in a cooker not in the hot plate. Rice goes in a steamer at the endcap of the buffet station. When you put it in a dish to stay warm like that,the edges get burn and are hard. The fried eice and white rice should BOTH be in a steamer. I cracked my tooth filling in a stale piece of rice not happy about that. The price was reasonable for dinner buffet at $17 plus tax for unlimited however after two plate fills, the server brought me my check. Also- would be better if I didnt have to pay a server to get my drink! Thats $5 plus the $3 for drink and in the end, buffet for one person in under an hour was $25. Buffet with drink and server is about $25, buffet is not pay and go it is a dine in. I had two plates and giving me the option of service/server would be better.

In their defense I cant say it was totally them that cracked my tooth filling I have been eating down the house SC yall have been good to me but back to my complaint that the rice hard on the edges was the "straw that broke the camels back" with my tooth filling.

So why Five stars if you so mad cuh? Because Zam that buffet was bangin! I literally chipped a tooth chowin down! Everything was fresh and til rhis very moment I am impressed with the environment, very clean very appropriate friendly and A M E R I C A N. Thanks again / Arigato and...

It's literally 12 o'clock and they have been open for an hour and the food isn't hot and the young man at the sushi bar has an attitude... It's way to early for this young man to be upset... I asked him where is the spicy tuna and he just waved me off mumbled and pointed at the sushi... First off I'm allergic to shellfish and nothing was labeled.... I looked at him and I said I'm asking because I literally don't know which one it is and that said again which one is it... If he says number 3... SMH I should have ate the wrong one so I could sue this place if I survived.... I keep telling my people that these guys don't care about us at all but they will happily open a restaurant in our neighborhood and take our money to send their kids to college with no problem... They don't like us... All you have to do is pay attention how they treat you....

Also I swear to God on my mother's life I walked back up to the sushi bar and I see another young man on his phone hiding behind a big bowl of rice picking his nose... Then he's back mixing the sushi rice... I can only imagine what nasty things go on in the kitchen! This place...
