Almost Heaven Bakery OBX — Restaurant in Nags Head

Almost Heaven recently provided the cupcakes, wedding cake and cookies for my wedding. Everything was absolutely amazing!! Oreo cupcakes, Almond cupcakes, Oreo wedding cake & all 10 types of cookies they offer!

We have no complaints and neither did anyone who had one of their delicious treats. My wife, who doesn't like cake, said the Oreo cake was amazing and I couldn't agree more....probably best cake I've ever had.

I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great bakery for anyone reason!

We live in NY, but we're married in the OBX and I'm hoping some day they can work out sending treats out of state!!

Edit* 8/2/25 Went back to this gem of a bakery while we were in OBX for our one year anniversary. Obviously I needed to reorder some treats from our wedding and it was all just as perfect as i remember. The oreo cupcakes are without a doubt my favorite bakery item from anywhere I think at this point. Flavor profile for the cake itself and the icing is so on point!! A HUGE HUGE thanks to the bakery for getting my order done on short notice! They absolutely had ZERO requirements to accept my last minute change....for my order to be done the next morning, even though i ordered late in the day. My wife and I are very grateful!!

The reese's peanut butter cookies are also out of this world. Please stop in and support this amazing...

Our family was in town on vacation and celebrating a birthday. We called ahead from home to order a cake. Our interaction was fantastic from the moment they picked up the phone. We arrived in the OBX and the next day, we went to the bakery to pick up our cake. I was early so it was not ready. The people inside were not put off or upset because I arrived early. Very politely they asked me if I would not mind waiting while they finished the cake. At one point I was approached and explained that one aspect of our cake was just not coming out correctly (this was piping the shell decorations). They offered another suggestion which was chocolate shaped shells, which I said would work. When they finished decorating the cake they brought it out for me to see, and it was spectacular. Now, when it was time to have the cake later that night, the cake was absolutely delectable. The flavor was on point and it was incredibly moist. For not being familiar with the OBX and taking a chance on a bakery from a Google search, we are so happy we found Almost...

We had planned a trip to OBX during our son's 15th birthday week, and I realized that I had no idea where we could get a cake. I've always baked fancy cakes for him and, when I'm low on time, I have a favorite bakery near home in NJ that always delivers. I did some searches about a month before our trip, and Almost Heaven had the best reviews of the bakeries closest to where we were staying in Nags Head. I ordered a 6-inch chocolate layer cake with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream, and I said to just do some simple "beachy" decorations. I was so impressed when I picked it up -- such a pretty cake with sugar seashells, and the owner even threw in a matching candle after I realized I didn't have any back at the house. My son loved it! The cake was so light and airy with good chocolate flavor, the buttercream creamy and light (not too sweet), and the most amazing raspberry filling. I can see why they get a lot of wedding orders - they do beautiful work, and their cake really does...
