My good friend brought me here for my birthday after searching for an open Mexican restaurant on a Tuesday afternoon since we arrived to 4 different ones that were closed.

I chose Los Antojitos after betting on the refreshing authentic feel in their photos and the expanded dinner menu options. My eyes were set on the shrimp tacos and the Molcajete with the Tamarindo Agua Fresca. The waitress also talked me into the freshly made guacamole, which was just chunky enough and as fresh as it could be.

I couldn’t have felt better about my choice of establishments after receiving such wonderful service at this family-run establishment. I felt very well taken care of. They were so kind and they even came to sing while I blew out the candles on my delicious flan.

They were very kind to prep an extra pineapple Agua Fresca for the drive back home after allowing me to practice some of my Spanish with them. I’ll certainly be returning to Los Antojitos in the very near future! I couldn’t have had a better...

Tried this new OBX Mexican place for supper tonight, and a few things stand out in my memory:

The staff was outstanding - my server was friendly, helpful, and genuinely wanted me to have the best experience possible.

The horchata was deliciously flavored and came in a huge mug - oh so refreshing on this crazy-hot day!

My enchilada was a bit above average for “Carolina-Mex” restaurants.

The esquite, basically street corn in a bowl, ate like a rich chowder, with more liquid than I expected; it was satisfying and I’d get it again.

I wondered about the Toreado Jalapeño and was told it was hot. “Gringo hot?” I asked. “No, more like Mexican hot.” was the reply. I tried it and the description was apt - my mouth was on fire but it was a good fire, pungently flavored and just...

Came and ate here and our server Beverly was very rude and had no good customer service. Everytime we asked for another drink or more chips we were met with rudeness. We ordered water and it had an awful taste and instead of apologizing and getting us something else she tried to argue that it tasted fine. I understand we are at the Beach and sometimes the water can taste fishy, regardless we ended up ordering lemonade and sprite and still had an awful taste to it. I asked her to take it off the bill and again instead of just taking it off she was rude and just stared at us. I also overheard her complaining about us to another server. Even though we were met with rudeness we were not rude back. The food was expensive and nothing great. I do not...

Food was not very tasty but large serving for the burrito at least. Al pastor tacos not the best I’ve had but okay. Jamaica and horchata were decent. Sadly, our server misunderstood our order and brought out an additional carne asada entree plate in addition to the CARNE ASADA burrito I ordered and the Al pastor tacos. When I asked him what had happened, he tried to argue with me and say he had double checked that I wanted all this. However, it was so obvious the two of us weren’t planning to eat three massive entrees. He had to go talk to his boss about it and then thankfully didn’t charge me for that mistake he made. Sadly, he didn’t speak to me at all the rest of the dinner and service was very slow and poor.
