Lucky 12 Tavern — Restaurant in Nags Head

I give this place a big ( -10 ) before I even tried the food my experience in customer service was Horrendous We Are a couple that lives in Virginia and every year we love to come to OBX we love to try different restaurants and places based on what we would like to eat on this day today around 7 PM I made a call to this Lucky 12 tavern place And let me tell you I called and I asked if they were taking orders to go and the person that answered the phone was a male and he said well it depends and I said well it depends on what and I said we're just trying to place an order to go and he said well it's just gonna have to be pizza only to go and I asked him why was that his response to me was because HE SAID SO !!! Who are you to decide what I'm eating for the night when I'm paying for it but at least I tried but you didn't give me the opportunity to do so , I asked him what kind of answer is that and he says because that's what I decided to do so the customer service was horrific businesses like this forget that customers are the ones that are keeping the business going but if it was up to me they will be shutting down today they should be happy that people like us that don't live here want to try to eat their food and give them a little bit of business businesses like this keep forgetting that we had a pandemic and they lost a lot of business they should be thankful that people want to come to their place to eat or at least try because I didn't give the opportunity to do so based on my customer service over the phone however that's their loss I'm OK with not eating there and I'm also OK I will never go there even though I never got a chance to but I'm glad I didn'tworst customer service ever I don't recommend this place to anyone locals or visitors they are the worst specially this male person that answer the phone however all I have to say is that this place is called Lucky 12 Tavern they're gonna need the luck because they're not gonna make it if they keep up with this nasty customer service I will put this place on my not to go list ever and anyone that comes to visit I will tell them not to go there horrific WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!! My review is - 10 hands Down!!! Me and my husband decided to catch a late bite around 9:00pm on July 6th 2021. The hostess Grace greeting us with a smile and sat us immediately. We sat and waited for our server which turned into 15 minutes. So my husband decided to get up and ask Grace if she knew when we was going to be greeted. She explained that the server was busy and forgot about us. But the restaurant was not busy & there was 2 tables who sat down after us who got waiting on less than 1 minute of seating. (I purposefully watched and timed the new tables to see if they was going to wait as long as we did) Grace the hostess took our drink order which was 2 water & 2 whiskey sours ( which were delicious) and also waited on us the entire night. At this point we still didn’t know who our server was but Grace did a phenomenal job at giving us a great experience. I will NEVER EVER step foot into this establishment again! Being that the food was Subpar . My husband had the fish & chips which was undercooked! The only thing good on the plate was the hand cut fries. I had the crab cake sandwich which was okay nothing to brag about. Also being the only black patrons in the restaurant I do feel as if we were treated differently. But at the end of the service my husband asked an male employee for Grace so we can give her her tip and the male employee responded with “why do you need her?” Which came of really disrespectful. No hour of the day at Lucky 12 Tavern is HAPPY hour! After my experience at the Tortugas’ Lie Bar & Grill (nightmare), my very short time here managed to top off my miserable night to even greater heights of extremely mean, rude and judgmental staff at an Outer Banks establishment! My friend had gone in before me, while I parked and chatted with a patron who had also just parked! I joined her & asked for a double daiquiri which upon taking one sip, immediately knew it was not. Made with house liquor, yet cost $16 - I didn’t say a word! I may not have had a drink in years, however my memory is still excellent! I noticed very few people were there, it looked rundown & felt very unwelcome! I went outside & mingled! I have always enjoyed meeting & talking with people & that’s what I did. The next thing I know my friend comes out & tells me that we have a problem! The bartender asked her if I was always like this: talking & being to strangers, that if we tried to leave he was going to call the police. I was in shock & immediately went in & handed him my unfinished drink (1/3 full - 40 minutes after I received it) & left. In the parking lot were at 7-8 young men acting in a very threatening manner, which frightened us! I absolutely cannot believe the actions of anyone, especially the bartender. This is not the North Carolina where 15 generations (all but me) were from, relatives from Hendersonville to the southern tip of the Outer Banks & where I had spent every summer!
