I recently visited this popular pizza place known for its casual, outdoor dining and simple, yet appealing menu. My overall experience was mixed but leaned towards the positive side due to several key aspects.
First, let's discuss the pizza itself. While I generally have high expectations for a well-cooked slice, my experience fell short this time. The slice I received was undercooked, which affected both the texture and flavor. It seemed that the kitchen was overwhelmed by the number of people waiting, leading to a rushed preparation process. This hurried approach unfortunately compromised the quality of the pizza, making it less enjoyable than it could have been.
On the brighter side, the staff at this establishment were extremely helpful and friendly. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and well taken care of. The team was attentive and did their best to manage the crowd efficiently. Their positive attitude and willingness to assist definitely enhanced my dining experience, making up for the culinary shortcomings.
The menu deserves special mention for its simplicity and well-curated options. Unlike many places that overwhelm with an extensive list of choices, this pizzeria strikes a balance with just the right number of offerings. This makes the decision-making process quick and straightforward, which I found to be a refreshing change.
Lastly, the outdoor dining setup was perfect. It provided a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, ideal for a casual meal. The seating arrangement was comfortable, and the ambiance was pleasant, allowing patrons to enjoy their food in a cozy environment. This aspect of the restaurant is a significant plus, especially for those who appreciate al fresco dining.
In conclusion, while the undercooked slice was a disappointment, the excellent staff, well-designed menu, and delightful outdoor seating make this pizza place worth a visit. With a bit more attention to the cooking process, it has the potential to offer a fantastic...
Read moreLet me start this review with saying that I LOVE pizza. By far my favorite food and go to comfort food. When we go on vacation we like to find new pizza places to try. We have several that we have found over the years that we go back to. Benny Tesoros here at Nags Head will DEFINITELY be a place we return to when in the Outer Banks! The pizza was delicious! My favorite part is the crust, it was crispy but not overcooked. Just absolutely perfect! The sauce was also top notch! We only tried the pepperoni pizza with marinara and garlic dipping sauce on the side. I have to rate it a 10/10. There's nothing I would change about the pizza. Everyone was so nice! The manager, I regret that I didn't ask his name was super helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. He even recommended we try the cookie spot next door. We are happy to find that they have a location in Raleigh, NC which is closer to us when we come visit NC. Can't wait...
Read moreMy sister picked up this pizza on our first night. Can’t speak to the restaurant itself. But the pizza was mid at best. Sauce flavor was good, and cheese was decent enough quality. The dough however, was barely risen. It was super dense and virtually no air bubbles in the crust, almost like a squished slice of white bread. Also, don’t advertise a 28 inch pizza if you’re putting like a 18” of toppings on it. Feels like a poor value for the cost. Was debating doing their pizza challenge, but after tasting a slice the first night, no way. I might give them another chance. Maybe it was a staff issue. That’s the reason I’m sticking with three stars. If it is this awful the next time, I’ll have to re-rank down to a 1. At this point I’d probably say you should avoid this spot… even for...
