I don't often post about places I eat but a new place opened in Nampa off of 12th in the old Happy Teriyaki building. It is called Chickenball. Similar type bowls but it is super tasty and the prices are really fair. I think the owner branched out on her own and was the previous owner of the Happy Teriyaki in that location but decided against renewing her franchise.
They do things a bit different. Your base bowl is normally mixed veggies with rice with Grilled Chicken cooked in Olive Oil. You can also get it with just rice or just Veggies if you ask. They charge for sauce for a $1 but again prices are fair.
Two of us ate for under $17. It is always over $20 at Happy Teriyaki.
The K sauce is a slightly more tangy Teriyaki sauce. They have an Apple Sauce which I didn't try that is supposedly similar to a Sweet and Sour.
The chicken was cooked great and a very fair portion. No fat or gristle. She also made sure to let me know the ingredients are fresh and nothing is cooked until you order. Took about 15 minutes to get our order.
Give it a try they lost over 2 months of business converting. They don't have a fully functioning website yet but she said they hope to by the end of the week and will be offering online ordering and pickup through the drive thru.
Easily my new go to for Teriyaki. Give them a try and support a local business. I grabbed some pics of their menu.
They are located at 172 E Maine Ave, Nampa, ID 83686 Phone number is...
Read moreThe move from Happy Teriyaki to Chicken Ball is a welcoming site! Me, my mom and my son came in yesterday and was greeted with a smile and excitement. We had to regular chicken ball bowls, and I got a breast chicken ball. I wasn't too sure what I was ordering but I was trusting the process. 10 mins later, we reci3ved our dishes and I was surprised at how much chicken we had gotten with our food!! It covered the while top, in between that was fresh cabbage and at the base was some of the best sticky rice I've had in awhile. There was no crunch in it whatsoever, it was soft and prepared with love. My son doesn't eat rice or cabbage, and the fact that he ate almost half of his is a testament to how good this place is! The sauces are made in-house and they're all made perfectly. I heard a customer try to suggest that the peanut sauce needed more flavor, but I thought that it was absolutely enough. PLEASE DONT CHANGE IT!! This place is like a healthier alternative to Cupbop with better and tastier portions. Will definitely be making this...
Read moreâď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ Absolutely delicious! I had the pleasure of trying Chicken Ball (formerly in the old Happy Teriyaki spot), and it did not disappoint. The chicken was incredibly tender and full of flavorâthe sweet and spicy sauce they use is out of this world. You can tell the food is fresh, made with care, and packed with bold taste in every bite.
I also tried their boba, and it was amazingâsmooth, refreshing, and just the right level of sweetness. On top of the great food, the staff was super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better.
Definitely a hidden gem worth checking out. If you havenât tried Chicken Ball yet, youâre seriously...
