Outer Space wines offered my wife and I a wonderful afternoon tasting featuring 4 unique wines that we both agreed were all delicious and had difficulty ranking which one came out on top. The husband and wife proprietors went out of their way to explain the unique features of each wine brought out to sample, and for even wine novices like us, we could taste something different and delicious about what was provided, particularly when compared to the typical wines we were used to. We received considerable recommendations for a souvenir selection of a Riesling to bring back for a family member, which the store had a whole back corner dedicated to. Their customer service also went above and beyond by not only informing us that our particular choice in airline offered a free baggage check for a wine box that travels with us, and even offered to help us with packaging our purchases using the spare materials they had on-hand. Start with a tasting at Outer Space Wines. Dan curates a selection of wines that are typically reasonably priced and appealing to the palate. It's amazing how he gets the selection right time after time. Outer Space Wines has a wine club and each selection has fun and interesting wines.

We are lovers of wine but don't have deep pockets. We work with Dan, tell him what types of wine appeal to us, what our price range is and Dan puts a case together for us. It's such fun to explore the wines of the world and California wines that we didn't know existed.

As a very very small grower/producer of Napa Valley Sangiovese, I have enjoyed the pleasure of working with Dan Dawson for more than a decade. His fine wine shop on a side street in downtown Napa reflects his mission to seek out hard-to-find, delicious wines from Napa and other wine regions. Ask him anything (after reading his bang on tasting notes for every wine on offer at Outer Space Wines), and he’s prepared to go as deep as you like.
