We visited the Cordair Gallery many times when we lived in Menlo Park about 20 years ago. Each time we admired Karl Jensen’s Summer Breeze—we just loved that sculpture. Eventually we broke down and bought Summer Breeze, although we asked for a different patina. Since the Cordairs actually have relationships with the artists they were able to accommodate our request. Summer Breeze was our first sculpture purchase. Since then we have acquired several pieces including Self-Made Man by Bobbie Carlisle. The Romantic Realism works we have acquired over the years have brought us pleasure far more valuable to us than the price we paid. Read moreThis past weekend, I discovered the Napa 9/11 Memorial Garden. It is an impressive example of the Artistry of Humanity. It brought back several emotions of that fateful day. As I began walking toward the Quent Cordair Fine Art gallery, I stopped in another gallery that offered paintings that were emotionless and lacked inspiration. Disappointed, I continued to my main destination, Quent Cordair. To my surprise, there was a sign on the door, Out To Lunch.
