visited Friday night before a show at blue note. we had being here about 3 years ago and I just had such good.memories of this place. we got seated very fast and the service assistants came by and poured water in our glasses almost immediatelycouple.minutes later out server came by with a smile and got our drink orders we had some.questions about the menu and she had the answers. we order the pork chop and a pasta with tomatoes sauce and some.pork.meat my pork.chop was dry even when i oder medium tp.meduim well it came out very well done the polenta and vegetables were good but not much for flavor, my wife's pasta was just on the positive side of ok the best thing we had here was their bread and olive oil and moslty because we ordered some.butter and a side of marinara sauce THAT ONE WAS GOOD aside form the food being just ok the server had.me.on an empty ice tea glass for the entire meal not once did i get a refill she came over to ask.aboit our food when we had almost finished our meals and id be ok if she was busy but I keep an eye out for here to get more tea but she was either taking pictures for a table close by or chatting with some other servers by the computer after we finished our meal the girls helping the server came out gave us more water and took our dirty plates several minutes after she dropped by and said let me clean here and put dessert menu down and left we didn't want to wait any longer so asked for the bill and went to.look.for dessert somewhere else it sucks bacuse I had such good.memories here but not no more it may yale.more than 3 years to come back again I won't write her name because im hoping she just had a bad day but in reality I think is more wishful thinking I think.this is the first time I tipped less then 20% to anyone as bad a s some have being this was no fun if you're going...

Had a reservation for 8 pm for our party of six on our last night in Napa. Here is everything we ordered to share:

Meatballs - this is the one dish I always order at Italian restaurants. Most of the time, you can't go wrong with it, plus it's filling. This one was pretty standard but good

Panzanella - this was my first time trying panzanella and I don't know if I love it. I don't like stale/soggy bread (which I know that's exactly what this dish is) but let's just say it's not for me. I didn't pick this and it probably wouldn't have been on my list of choices but since we ordered it, I thought - might as well try it

Salmon with Lentils - salmon paired with lentils was a bit odd for me, but the salmon itself was fine

Braised Short Rib - flavor-wise, this was pretty good but I don't love braised short rib in general

Radiatore with Pork Ragu - I really liked this dish overall. Pasta was al dente, ragu was great, but it was too salty. I could only eat so much of it after a while

Shrimp Scampi - flavor of the pasta was good but shrimp had a weird taste to it. Almost like it had been sitting in a tank somewhere at some point for too long

White Lasagna - pretty good. It was a nice change from the typical classic lasagna

Side of Polenta - polenta is polenta. Nothing special here

Funghi Pizza (crema, parmagiano reggiano, mushrooms, thyme) - this was definitely my favorite of the night. I wasn't mad that my friends were too full to eat this because I probably ended up eating three pieces of this

I don't think I would come back if I was in town again but if you come here, I'd recommend just sticking to the pizza and pasta. But the good thing about this place is that their menu changes daily (or weekly?) so maybe we just didn't order the right dishes. Maybe I would have enjoyed the menu more had I come on a...

When you visit a town for a weekend and you only have two spots for an amazing meal, it is so incredibly disappointing when it doesn’t work out. The service was absolutely the worst I’ve ever seen and had me questioning repeatedly if I was the losing it. It started with the server bringing us the wrong bottle, all good it happens, however she laughed when we asked for the correct one then told us I guess it’s fine because we can sell the wrong one by the glass. She quickly grabbed the menus without asking what we’d like to eat, then came back and said she’d forgotten what we’d ordered and asked for us to order again… we needed menus for this. We ordered, however after forty five minutes waiting it became clear our order was never placed. The chef came over, told us our order would be a couple more minutes… but what did we order again… they told us we should have chosen the ravioli (too late now)… then went over to whisper to our server, who then entered in the order. We should have left at this point, but we were hungry and bad service doesn’t mean bad food, but… We never got our food. We left after about 1 hour 15 minutes in the restaurant waiting. When I asked the manager what happened, he made excuses about a busy restaurant (it was busy, but reasonable for an active restaurant). Never once after all this did any one apologize or acknowledge the wait, instead the giggle, whispered and glared. Our server stopped by once before we left, never mentioning anything about our food, but instead asked if we wanted to see a famous TikTok of the chef. We are a patient and incredibly forgiving crew, I never write bad reviews, but I can’t let this one go. If you’ve gotten to the end of this, find another choice...

I had dinner here while in from out of town. I went looking for great Italian food and got it. My date and I had: Fig antipasto - This was delightful and refreshing, and perfectly whetted our appetites for the next dishes. The flavors came together really well. Margherita pizza - This was delicious. They did the thin crust perfectly, I don't usually eat the crust, but I did this time. The tomato sauce was balanced, it shown on its own and complimented the basil leaves well. Ragu pork pasta - Might be the highlight of the evening. The shells had that nice firmness of a solid al dente (some places will claim their pasta is al dente and then it comes out soft, so I respect them for actually doing it), and the sauce was heavy and flavorful, like comfort food. (I forgot to take a picture because we delved into it so fast.) The service was great as well. The waiter noticed I didn't seem to be enjoying my wine (it wasn't what I had expected based on the label) and offered to switch it out for me. I hate bugging waitstaff about changes or sending stuff back because I know how hard their job is, though I took him up on his kind offer. The fact that he noticed and offered really stood out to me, especially on a busy Friday night. Overall, a lovely dining experience. I will definitely come back if I return to Napa.
