I hate writing this but I felt it was important that management hear this complaint. I attended the Ry Cooder concert last might 7/22. It was an exceptional evening and hearing Cooder again after many years, since '70, was by all mean another moment musical beauty. As the concert ended I was walking in the lobby talking to an old pal. Catch up the moment we walked past the doors of the lobby and a few steps past. I remembered I really wanted to buy a CD. So I turned back to get one. The employees at the door told me i could not reenter the lobby. Say what ? I just wanted to purchase a CD, NO she said you can't re-enter,,, and told me to go to the other entrance. Really? Ok... so i go to the other entrance and the staff said in no uncertain terms that i was not allowed to enter the lobby again. Again I stated that I just wanted to SPEND money and purchase a CD. Aggressively was told that I could not re-enter the lobby. I inquired why? I was told for security reasons.... at this point there are other folks who also are being denied,,, mostly elderly folks, one it trying to located her husband a couple are in need of using the rest room.. all are bewildered as to the stern enforcement of this policy,, a muscly Security guard steps into the light,,, making his presence known in no uncertain terms. I'm thinking really? Having attended numerous concerts at the Uptown I've never witnessed or heard of such a stupid policy. OS what are the security concerns that are so threatening.... that a rabble rousing bunch of Geriatric grey wolves would jump the bar and raid the Cabernet or worse the Chardonnay,,,,, seriously a wonderful evening waste and frankly $200 in tickets now tainted.... for what an unreasonable policy that shatters the notion of service and hospitality. Wow that is so special......... great job...

Hey, that looks like the Back to the Future movie theatre! You know, the one Marty McFly will hit if he doesn't reach 88 MPH. That was my first impression when walking towards the Uptown Theatre, nestled in the West End district of Downtown Napa.
Undergoing a major renovation a few years ago, the Uptown Theatre is an intimate, old school theatre who's last row is only 98 feet from the stage, making every seat a great seat. I had the great fortune of attending 2 consecutive nights of mostly acoustic concerts, with a diverse lineup of musical acts.
Seating was quite comfortable. I sat in the third & first row of the upper level (respective to each night) & had a great view. Plenty of leg space to stretch out & get comfortable. Refreshments for the show can be obtained at the Courtyard Café & Bar, with light bites and alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages.
The only complaint would be the restrooms, They are not large enough to handle the rush of guests in attendance. The men's room quickly formed a line. I don't dare imagine how bad the line at the women's restroom became. There is at least one unisex restroom by the entrance.
Like a travel back in time, like say Nov.5, 1955, the Uptown Theatre is a classic in every sense of the word. Handsomely appointed seats, close to the stage, are what make this a fantastic venue to catch a show, all in beautiful Downtown...
Read moreMy daughter purchased 3 tickets to the Lindsey Buckingham show o. Feb 4th and failed to notify ticket holders that they changed their covid restrictions on Feb 16th to see a show, stating they would no longer accept a negative covid test fo enter their theater, once we found out they changed their policy she requested a refund for the event, she was told no refunds for past events. however we had asked for a refund 8 hours prior to the event starting, They did not repsond to her email until a half an hour after the event started. Come to find out that the general manager gave away ours seats to their bartender prior to the event starting, one of our friends who got to go spoke to the person sitting our seats with their friends how they got these seats and that's what they told her. I don't feel that this venue should be allowed to force a vaccine mandate for a vaccine that still allows you to carry and pass along covid, and if you are going to change the rules for shows you shod have waited for a show that you hadn't started selling tickets for or you should refund the tickets to those that would not be allowed to attend, even if I wanted to get a vaccine shot we would not have been considered fully vaccinated and could not have...
