I wanted to stay somewhere in Napa to celebrate for our wedding anniversary and my birthday. When I saw The George online I thought that might be nice. When we arrived I could not believe how beautiful the grounds were. Colorful, immaculate manicured yard were pleasing to the eye. When we enter the beautifully renovated Victorian mansion it felt like I was walking into a home not a hotel. It had beautiful yet comfortable antique furniture. Our room was so spacious and nicely furished with really high ceilings and hard wood floors. The bathroom was all marble with a double large shower with 2 rain fall shower heads. The bedroom had a large sitting area with 2 large chairs and a couch that was tucked in next to a half circle wall with extra larg windows. All the windows were extra large and let in plenty of sun light. The room had a fireplace and as you enter the room to the right was a small room with a sink, wine fridge, wine glasses, coffee and coffee maker, tea and cocktail glass ware. I the mornings a great breakfast was served by a personal chef with everthing laid out for us buffet style in a room with hand paiinted walls of leaves and a peacock on them. I almost forgot to mention when we first arrived in our room we were brought a glass of champagne which we enjoyed along with some complimentary chocolate covered almonds and rosted mixed nuts. Overall my wife and I really enjoyed The George and had a great time in Napa. We plan to go back soon.

The George was such a stunning boutique inn. It was charming, bright, and luxurious. I loved how that it was a Victorian building, but entirely newly renovated amenities. I visited with my fiancé and had a wonderful stay. Our room was on the top floor and was bright and spacious light. It was a few floors up, so I wouldn’t recommend that room to everyone. There is one ADA-friendly room if needed. We loved the Matouk towels and robes, and the bedding was plush and cozy. We didn’t want to leave our room because it was so relaxing. The breakfast was homemade and fresh. We brought our breakfast upstairs since we had a table in our bedroom. The staff were courteous and helpful, and it was nice that there was parking just for guests. The inn is in a slightly more residential area of Napa. Walking is fine, but it can get fairly dark in the evening. We didn’t walk from the inn much and mostly drove around town.

We loved the George. Greatly exceeded our expectations from the cozy rooms to exquisite elegance i would highly recommend your stay. We arrived in the afternoon and once we got settled we were greeted with sparkling wine and some treats, Tracy and Linda were amazing. Very close to the downtown area, yet the house is nestled in a quiet neighborhood amongst the other old Victorian homes. If you’re into details this home is decorated with classic yet modern contemporary touch. The essentials like the towels, sheets and heated bathroom floors, in addition to the continental Breakfast spread adds to the touch of luxury and elegance. Romantic cozy backyard with lounge area under the shade of a majestic tree where we enjoyed a bottle of wine. I felt so special.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, over the years I have stayed in many hotels throughout the world both on business and for pleasure. So, why do I rate this hotel over everything else? First, we have location, a very pleasant quiet location a short pleasant walk from downtown Napa. On-site convenient complimentary parking. Novel remote check in system, you are given a unique digital check in code prior to arrival, no need to check out. The building is a perfectly restored victorian mansion, both spacious and very elegant with beautiful furnishing. Bedrooms are elegantly furnished with a very comfortable bed (including Comphy linen). The views from all windows are very pleasant, great trees and perfect landscaping. There is an outside seating area to drink wine/coffee/tea or just enjoy the location. Breakfast is a well stocked buffet with a hot egg dish. Best of all, the daily overnight rate for a hotel this perfect is very reasonable for this degree of luxury. So, now you know why I think this hotel is the best I have ever stayed in, perfect in fact.

You may have noticed all my reviews to date on Google have been 5 star, this is deliberate. Life is too short to focus on that which does not make us happy. This is why I restrict my reviews to those things/places/services that make me happy and appreciate life. Sure, I have been to some really dreadful shops, hotels and restaurants etc., but, like I said, life is too short to spend time thinking and...

Charming stay, but some details missed - We recently stayed at The George and were truly impressed by the beautiful historic home and the walkable location. It’s a lovely place and we appreciated the quiet location and elegant touches throughout the property.

That said, there were a few areas where the experience didn’t quite match the level of care you’d expect at this price point. The hot water in the shower took over 7 minutes to heat up each morning, which was surprising and inconvenient. We also wanted to enjoy the cool evening air, but one window was blocked by a fixed curtain and the other had no screen, which made it impractical to leave open.

We had asked ahead of time—and received confirmation twice—that there would be vegan options at breakfast. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the only items available for vegans were fresh berries, melon, and toast. A bit more effort here would have gone a long way in making us feel welcomed and included.

Lastly, some small service oversights made things feel less than seamless. There was only half a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom when we arrived, and when it ran out, there was no additional stock in the room. With no staff visible in the lobby or common areas, we had to borrow a roll from the public restroom ourselves.

None of these issues were deal-breakers, but with a little more attention to detail and guest follow-through, The George could easily deliver the elevated experience it’s...
