After hearing and seeing so many positive reviews, we decided to pick up Taj Grill to go last night. The online ordering is easy, allowing you to select spice level of certain dishes. I like spicy. Upon payment, they said they would be sharing my personal information as part of their privacy policy, yet I couldn’t find the privacy policy or opt out. (Easy to avoid by calling and ordering). Our order was made very quickly, ready when we got there and the gentleman had a lovely, welcoming smile. The food was very hot in my lap on the way home which I appreciate. The cilantro naan was flavorful on its own, my boyfriend’s chicken biryani made spicy was the perfect heat. My paneer makhni was not made spicy as I had requested and this truly bummed me out as I was specifically craving spicy food. (privileged problems i kno). What bummed me out the most is that when I called to inquire about whether “spicy” meant something different depending on the dish (it doesn’t) and inform them of the little mistake, the smiley gentleman didn’t offer to correct the problem, to replace my order (I wouldn’t have wasted the dish) or to give me anything to bring the spice up, he just said that they would keep in mind next time that I like it spicy. As privileged as these problems are, I feel like when you’re spending $75 on food, yes mistakes are absolutely forgivable, but I would have been happier and more impressed if he had at least offered to try to make it right in the moment because it seemed like he just didn’t care that the mistake was on their end. Overall, the food was good and combining my spicy eggplant bhartha brought the heat up to satisfy that craving. All this to say Aroma has always been my go-to and it seems it will stay that way. I do believe in second chances though so I’m still absolutely open to dining at Taj if a...
Read moreAfter 4 visits I have to downgrade my initial assessment. The chicken dishes are ALWAYS dry. We ordered the mixed grill (chicken* &lamb)@$28. BOTH were dry, & very small portions, especially @ $28. The large bottle of Haywards 1500 beer priced @ $20 is also ridiculous. Their refusal to take suggestions ie ALWAYS replying that they simply cannot do that is ludicrous. We asked if we could get 1½ portions of certain courses as one example. Another was suggesting that they offer a mixed platter so if an individual came in to dine but didn't want to break the bank by ordering multiple dishes, ending up with leftovers. I don't think this restaurant will survive. People won't put up with poor preparation, small portions, lighting similar to a diner ie far too brightly illuminated, music being far too loud, & being over priced. Rice is an inexpensive ingredient, yet TG insists on small portions at pricing a bit too high. My gf & I spent $70-$100 each time for the 2 of us. We truly wanted to love TG, but we will no longer spend $ there. 4 strikes & you're out! Below is my initial review. Goat Curry was outstanding. Chicken Tika Masala was delicious but the chicken breast was on the dry side. Rice with peas etc was far too small for a $7 price point.Music was a bit too loud. Also the menu needs to offer a "mixed platter" for those dining solo. Family style is always the way to go at Indian restaurants, but when you're just one at times, there ought to be options. Overall I'm a fan & will be a regular. These criticisms are meant in a...
Read moreOCTOBER 2025 update Sad that yesterday's experience, October 3, 2025, was so substandard and careless.
At noon we called and ordered nine wraps of various fillings for a 4:45pm pickup. There was a call midafternoon from them to check on some detail about the order, which we appreciated and felt it meant good things. Later, at 4pm, we called and added one more for a total of 10 wraps for the 4:45pm pickup..."no problem!"
When we arrived at 4:45pm for the pickup the food was not ready.
It was FAR from ready.
It was at least 30 minutes, perhaps closer to 45 for it be to ready. The seating area was deserted, and there were a few other pickups during our wait but nothing that would have stressed a kicthen.
WTH, Taj Grill? Thanks for the memories, goodbye.
We were most appreciative of the delicious food and spot-on service from Taj on Saturday, July 27th, in the late afternoon.
Ordering a large bunch of the delicious naan wraps for our organization could not have been easier, and the food satisfied the sometimes finicky eaters and plans are already being made for a return. The wraps were fairly-priced and hearty, and we got the veggie, lamb, and chicken tikka options.
We ordered ahead of time online and it was efficient and the order was exactly right.
High-quality ingredients, careful preparation, the food was still hot and delicious when we got back for serving, and engaged and focused helpers at the counter.
Give it a try and based on our experience, good...
