A Treasure Trove of Unique Wines Tucked away in downtown Napa, The Wine Thief is a hidden gem that every wine enthusiast should discover. This boutique wine shop and tasting room boasts an exceptional selection of differentiated wines that will tantalize your taste buds and broaden your palate. Exceptional Selection The Wine Thief's owner, Scott Lewis, has curated an impressive collection of small-production, hard-to-find wines from around the world. From boutique Napa Valley labels to obscure varietals from Europe, the selection is both eclectic and expertly chosen. Whether you're a seasoned oenophile or just starting your wine journey, you'll find something new and exciting to try. The Story Behind The Wine Thief Scott Lewis, a wine industry veteran, opened The Wine Thief in 2011 with a mission to share his passion for unique and underrepresented wines. The name "Wine Thief" pays homage to the tool used to extract wine from barrels, symbolizing Scott's commitment to uncovering hidden gems and sharing them with his customers. Tasting Experience The tasting experience at The Wine Thief is intimate and informative. Scott and his knowledgeable staff will guide you through a selection of wines, sharing stories and insights about each pour. The cozy tasting room is perfect for small groups or solo explorers, and the relaxed atmosphere makes it easy to ask questions and learn. Conclusion The Wine Thief is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a unique wine experience in Napa. Scott's exceptional selection, paired with his infectious enthusiasm, makes for a truly memorable visit. Whether you're looking to discover new favorites or simply expand your wine knowledge, The Wine Thief is a treasure trove waiting to be explored.

Shout out to Sven for providing such an incredible experience! As inexperienced wine lovers, we came in totally lost but wanting to experience a fun tasting experience. Ultimately we did three tastings at different locations and this one blew them all away! Sven was super patient and showed genuine interest in us as people, clearly even enjoying and being able to intelligently answer our crazy slew of newbie questions. Not only that, he even had us tasting $100+ bottles of wine!! 😲 Even more, we had the opportunity to personally speak with one of the vineyard owners about his wine and his story. I wish we had saved all our time and money from the other tastings we visited and just did multiple at the Wine Thief. These guys truly know their stuff, love their jobs, have ZERO pushyness, and are simply great people providing GREAT wines! (Be sure to grab a bottle of the Solamente!)

The Wine Thief made our trip to Napa! Thank you so much gentlemen. Not only were they able to zero in on our taste pretty quickly, but their wit and irreverent humor made the tasting even better. Long story short, Mo heard my husband talking about Wisconsin and pulled me aside to recommend a specific vineyard which made a great trip into a phenomenal trip. We will be back to Napa and we will DEFINITELY be stopping by at the Wine Thief when we go.

Everything was great until we tried to get our wine. We went at 630 they were closed. Sign on window said 7. Cam said 7. Website said 7. Since we were leaving we left a VM to please ship with contact info. No call back in two days so we called. They said busy with customers. Would get back to us. Never did. We called two days later and got the same story. "Sorry short staffed will call you back. Again no call. We called again. Same story keep saying they would call us back. But in a week no call back. We texted and emails many times. After 12 days they finally called and said wine was shipped but it had not been. Garrett was very rude on the phone. Blaming us for not getting the wine. And how He had charged us for the wrong thing. But was going to fix it as the owner. I asked him to just refund our money. He was calling from his cell phone and the connection was very bad. The call got dropped. He called back and I was on the other line at work. He left a very rude VM message. That if we needed to call or needed anything to Not call Him. He then sent some texts saying he was from Napa and would tell all the people he knew about us. I wish he would. We had our first visit to Napa and had a wonderful expieriance with everyone except The Wine Theft. What a fitting name. All the other wine we purchased was delivered to us in WA State within days. It had been 12 days and the Wine Theft had not even shipped...

Terrible experience! I stopped in on Sat, 9/8. There was one small group of people hanging out at a table and the one host was at the far end of the bar talking to the only other person there.

The host (short, Hispanic looking guy who was very nice to my group a couple of years ago) never even said hello. There were 2 menus on the bat and I picked one up. He said they were for someone else and then grudgingly came over, handed me a menu and asked what I wanted to taste. I mentioned the 7th Letter- a great red blend that I had purchased before. He said they didn't have it. I asked if they had it to purchase even if not to taste. He said no.

He asked me what I was interested in and I said maybe something similar. He said he didn't have anything like that. And stood there and just looked at me. So I left.

For Heaven's sake- this is a wine tasting room representing several vintners and you don't have anything to suggest!??

I went next door to Mark Herold and had a great tasting and then I found Feast It Forward just around the corner. Great place, lots of people having a good time, super friendly staff and great wine. I bought half a case.

Needless to say, I will not be going back...
