Iām a native Napan and, as much as I went here when it was Compadres, I hadnāt yet been here as Ace & Vine / The Lincoln.
I met here with my brother, his girlfriend, and another friend. All of us have worked in the industry at one point, and I am currently a manager at a bar/ restaurant in Napa. The service was probably the worst Iāve experienced in this town. A woman was behind the bar, and I asked for a simple mixed drink and some shots (tequila soda with lime juice and 3 shots of fernet). She told me she would let the bartender know. Fair enough, youāre working the floor and happen to be behind the bar, thank you for the communication. Literally 10-15 minutes passed before I had to inquire about where my drinks were. She told me the bartender was working on it. I peak over to see what the bartender is doing, and sheās sipping her water and talking to some dude at the bar. I see her finally start to go and work on my order, so I go to smoke outside hoping that Iāll come back to drinks at the table (while brother & co. were still at the table.) When I come back, the drinks still werenāt there and Iām told the bartender had to come check and make sure she got the order right⦠15+ minutes after we placed it. They finally came by with 4 shots of fernet, 1 more than we asked for, and my drink.
Later -weāre seated right next to the bar - and weāre given a 5 minute warning - by security? - that they were closing soon. I immediately went to the bar to ask for one more drink, and she told me they were done. I said, āoh, he JUST gave us a 5 minute warning for drinksā to which the bartender apprised us that it was a 5 minute warning to FINISH our drinks and go. No last call whatsoever. No sever/ bartender stopped by to tell us they were closing the bar. I was always told the Lincoln/ Ace and Vine closed at 2am on weekends, yet I couldnāt order a drink @ 1:30?
Not to mention too that my brother had to wait at the bar for quite some time just to get a water and a tequila/soda for himself.
The service is embarrassing and shows a clear lack of wanting to have anything to do with good service when they could be home 15 minutes earlier that night. If they had audibly done last call, they could have easily made another $100 from my table and the 2-top next to me alone, forget how much money the staff would have made from the tip. I will never come...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is an absolutely amazing place to visit. Iām only reviewing the restaurant as I have not experienced the other amenities. The food is fantastic and definitely worth the price. I will warn you that they do charge $69 for brunch but the quality makes the price very much agreeable. The staff is friendly and personable and provide a fun dining experience. Now for the reason as to why they will not receive a perfect review. They have a lack of portion control as much of what they offer is far too much. I highly recommend that they amend this as too much food can cause the guest to not fully enjoy the delicious entrees they offer. If the waiter recommend to only get one, then GET ONLY ONE! Finally their desserts were great but the chocolate mousse was more like icing. It wasnāt creamy enough to be considered a mousse and was way to big to be considered a dessert. Everything else on the menu is priced very well and would highly recommend visiting for lunch and dinner. If you have a special occasion then you should treat your significant other to brunch here for they will not be disappointed. I will say I look forward to coming back and playing cards. And when that happens you can expect an in-depth...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWow, incredibly disappointing. I had been looking forward to visiting this spot after knowing it as Compadres. I went with a close friend and was incredibly uncomfortable after a waitress twice instructed me to āsmileā.
I was very eager to leave and there was confusion with my friend about who was paying the check. On our way out, a bald server chased us down to notify us that no payment had been made. Absolutely mortified, I handed him a $100 bill and he assured us that it happens all the time, no worries. We waited several minutes and he never came back. My friend approached him and asked for our change, which he handed over begrudgingly (and incorrectly). I approached the bar and asked for an itemized receipt and the bartender then reached into the till and handed me $4, without any explanation or any receipt. I again asked for a receipt and he was very dismissive and handed it to me but also told us security would escort us out.
This was wholly humiliating and the general manager approached us without a mask, clearly not interested in hearing our perspective of events. I would never recommend anyone come hereāthis was a disappointing and...
