Me and my wife were very thrilled to stop by Giordano's (Downtown Naperville) for some deep dish pizza after taking a nice walk. We initially ordered our food (medium cheese deep dish pizza and a entree Caesar Salad) for a take-out order so we can take it home and eat. We arrived 15 minutes earlier and since there were parking space available, we were going to see if we can dine in, if not it was all good since we did initially ask for a take out. Once inside, I was glad to see that we came during the off-peak hours, and saw that there were a lot of booths available. I went to the cash registry and told them I was there for the pick-up order but wanted to check if it was ok to dine in instead. The person that assisted me seemed confused and told me she will find out. Soon another lady came out and told me, that should not be an issue. They wanted us to pay first, which I did and paid tip as well, assuming I was going to be treated like a dine in customer. Soon I realized, they really did not want us there. They did not treat us like customers but instead like luggage. They just told us to go and sit at the nearest booth, instead of telling us exactly which booth and did not even walk us to our table. They did not provide us water, pizza knife cutter, and handed our food in our to-go bag when we walked in. Up to this point, we were still OK since in the back of my mind, we were technically take-out guest. The part that really frustrated us was, when I was on my 2nd or 3rd slice and still no one came to even offer water. So I went to the cashier/front desk, asked for water and their response was that they were not allowed to serve water to take-out guest. I remained calm and asked if we can get the water in to go cups at least since we did purchase the pizza. I thought that was justifiable. She seemed very upset and brought two waters and left without saying a word. At this point, we just grabbed our belongings and left. If you guys have a policy where take-out guest can not change their mind to dining in, please be upfront about it and hopefully at least treat every customers equally. By far, this has been my worst restaurant experience. I am usually very calm and collective but this was one of the rudest experience ever. I paid for my food and asked if we can dine in when there were plenty of room in the restaurant at the time. I believe I asked first and was as polite as I can be during this rude event. This is all and I just wanted to inform you guys how this bad experience has affected the way I think of Giordano's and I will definitely be sharing my terrible experience whenever Giordano's pops up into a...
Read moreFood- Awful awful experience. We came in today and ordered a veggie deep dish and a salad. I specifically asked it for the pizza to be well done. About 40 minutes after we placed our order, our waitress brought out a half cooked pizza. It literally was leaking water from the veggies. It was so disgusting and it wasn't even warm. We sent it back to have it cooked more which took almost a half hour. It was OK once it came back. We had taken bites out of 2 of the slices which they also recooked (kind of gross).
Service- I can say with total confidence that the service was worse than the pizza. Getting a refill here is impossible. I literally had to flag down the waitress 4 times to get her attention. I even had to ask another waiter for a refill (which he never got). The funny thing is that the manager walked past me multiple times and knew my glass was empty since I placed it at the end of the table and still nothing. She was super snarky and looked miserable. I actually feel bad for her. Her and the other manager here are terrible. The attitude here is pretty much like they are doing you a favor by serving you. I don't think I've ever went to a restaurant and never left even a small tip. This might have been the first time. Truly disgusting service and food. I'm also sharing this review on the bolingbrook and naperville Facebook groups. The sad part is that I actually enjoyed coming here in the past. I will make sure that none of my family and friends ever step foot in this...
Read moreIt wasn't the best experience. We drove from Batavia to the Naperville location. Because it's been the best in the past. I know the service staff doesn't cook the food. However it's the reaction I got for complaining. My pizza had minimum sauce. I mean minimum! Even if I pressed down on a serving no sauce was visible. So more sauce was brought over to our table. A new pizza was not offered to us at any time, it was so DRY! Am I supposed to pay and redo the ingredients myself? Plus it was obvious that the pizza had over cooked! Maybe somebody was watching the game, and not the oven! To add insult to the injury the person bringing over the sauce was a manager! With reluctance she took the medium pizza off the bill. Stressing to me, how we could not take it home. I had already told her that I didn't want to reinvent the dough! So why did she feel like she needed to say that? We paid for our wings, calamari and drinks. We still left a 20% tip to our server. This guy should have been our advocate but he wasn't. I asked him to bring me the orange slice for my Blue Moon beer, he comes back with, "we are out of oranges." I didn't like my experience that day. What sucked is they were not crowded! However I believe the carry out orders were taking...
