Update: 12/01/2024
(4th visit, sadly pop up chose burger life so had to be there)
Nishaan pop up 11:00am till food runs out Advertised on social media (I was in the first 50 customers)
Pop up page on social media advertised use of heaters - I spent 27 minutes with my friends and everyone else waiting outside with none of the heaters on. Not a big deal we had jackets on, but others who were waiting complained about why the heaters were there but not on. You should do what you advertise.
We finally get inside and wait another 30 minutes to be told they paused taking orders and have to wait 1 hour to "catch up" which I found reasonable since it's a "pop up". That hour goes by and we are told it would be another hour wait. So now over 2 hours have gone by. Only when one of us asked an employee we were told that it will be another 2 hours before we can place an order. Had we just waited nobody was there to update or inform us of these wait times.
I asked to speak to the owner for a honest time frame and it was at this point I was informed that only 2 of the 6 items from the pop up are available and it would still be another hour before taking orders and he has no control over it. The business owner lost control of the first 50 maybe 60 customers? Hard to believe. And again I only knew this because I asked. Many people in line had not been informed they were waiting for 2/6 available items.
I later find out the people who did start ordering at 11:00am waited over 2 hours to get their food. And everyone waiting for food was disappointed and people who had waited began to leave as well.
People drove from different cities wasting their time waiting in line & eventually leaving.
Once again dining area was dirty, tables not cleaned up.
Poor planning, poor management, just overall garbage experience.
It's disappointing when you try to support local Muslim businesses/pop ups and the planning is horrible and unorganized. Was looking forward to trying these items and hyped up my family and friends for nothing.
Original review:
I don't recommend anyone go here. Went 3 times and each time experience and food was garbage, literally had to throw food out.
Only thing they are good at is marketing on social media.
First two visits interior was in horrible shape. Third visit the interior was remodeled but no improvement on food.
Staff was clueless and did not have any customer service skills. All they had is attitude.
The burgers (beef and chicken), seemed frozen from the taste & texture. The wait time for our order was unreasonably long (30 minutes of waiting), & we received no updates on the status of our food even though I had asked few times.
There was no effort to clean up tables or clear away discarded trash when others had finished eating, which contributed to an uninviting atmosphere. Who wants to walk into a sit down restaurant and see dirty tables and not being cleaned, clearly the manager or owner doesn't care. 50 minutes sitting in the restaurant and waiting for food and then somewhat eating what we had and not a single person came out to clean up any of the tables.
Reading all the other negative reviews make sense. No consistency if there is any based on the other reviews. Questionable how they...
Read moreWe were so eager to go here as our family has not dined out in over 3 months, so I called to check if they were open for outdoor seating, as most restaurants are these days due to Covid. They assured us they were. She mentioned to call in or place the order online ahead of time and they would bring the food out. When we got there, there was a sign posted on the door that said “DO NOT COME IN”. I tried to ring to give them our order on the phone and the line rang busy and then eventually went to voicemail after almost 10-15 of trying. I proceeded to try doing it online and spent another 10 min on their website but could not check out because the system didn’t work. So we waited again. When I saw an employee servicing another customer that had walked in, I followed suit and spoke to her about the issues and she dismissed the whole thing saying they are open for ordering inside the restaurant and that their online system does not work. I tried to reason with her that we’ve been outside all along, and it clearly says not to come in; she said she was in the bathroom. No apologies about the inaccurate sign or the fact that no one answered for almost 15 min. My husband went in to place the order while I waited outside with the kids and elders. As we waited, I noticed how grimy the table and chairs were, they had not been cleaned ever it seemed. The kids kept touching everything, as is expected. When she brought the food out, I requested something to clean the table with, she said they had nothing available! She brought out a plastic roll and scissors and we had to lay it on the table and cut it ourselves; we had soda spill everywhere and on my son as we struggled to trim the plastic! I don’t get it, you’re open for service and have seating outdoors, at least sanitize your table tops. It doesn’t take much to bring out a wipe to clean up after people are done. Get some gloves, Clorox and follow the sanitation regulations that are in place for ALL businesses because of Covid. If they are this lax about cleanliness while there is a pandemic going on, I can’t imagine their...
Read moreVisited The Burger Life in Naperville, Illinois, on a Saturday night, with high expectations for a delicious meal. Upon arrival, the hostess informed us of a 30-35 minute wait, which seemed reasonable at the time. After placing our order, we were prepared for a bit of a wait in the cozy ambiance. However, our patience was tested as the wait extended to an astonishing 90 minutes for just two burgers. Strangely, the restaurant was not crowded, and no other tables were occupied, which made the delay even more perplexing.
We checked in with our waitress a few times, hoping for an update, but were met with a repeated "10 more minutes" each time. This prolonged wait significantly dampened our dining experience, overshadowing the anticipation of our meal.
When our burgers finally arrived, they were indeed good, living up to the reputation that had initially drawn us to The Burger Life. The flavors were on point, and the quality of the ingredients shone through, showcasing the potential for a fantastic dining experience.
In summary, while the burgers from The Burger Life proved tasty, the excessively long wait time, especially with an empty restaurant, was a major letdown. Future visits would be considered with the hope of improved service times, as the quality of the food merits...
