This is an honest review for my 'not so HONEST' experience. I don't expect the restaurant management to bother with this review, presuming they would have done so having a 3.9 average rating over 1000+ reviews. I gave a fourth try while keeping an open mind. All reviews that I read here line up with my experience. I couldn't have agreed more with someone who wrote about the ridiculousness of this restaurant's operations. Customers have to pay upfront for the food before being served, that too in disposable serveware. I requested for a proper spoon, but they declined. Totally disinterested and maybe take customers for granted (I can't think of any other reason).
This time the dosa came with stale chutney that had gone bad. I said nothing after the 'spoon' experience but mentioned politely and that they should not serve it to any more people that day. All I got was a lame facial expression from a bored employee who promptly turned around to mention what I said to another employee who was inquiring about our conversation which by the way was still going on.
What kind of a restaurant expects you to tip at the cash register while ordering food? How would I know what their service is gonna be ? Duh!!! But one feels forced and obligated to add a tip when the tipping screen is shoved at you. It is more efficient and economical while saving man-hours to make the customer pay, serve in disposables, have them pick up the food from the counter and then clear the table and dump the waste and stack the trays. No complaints about the process as such but then why am I paying sit down restaurant prices?
Like I said, they take their customers for granted. They know their clientele: tolerant Southeast Asian customers with 6 digit income who live in the 11th wealthiest city in the country.
'Atithi devo bhava' and in this case paying atithi-es, but why bother business is good. 2 * rating because the person I was with had a...
Read moreI have been to this location couple times and had a good experience until my third visit. Before I start let me tell you that I live an hour away from the this location. I was here with my family (8 people) on March 24th, 2019 sunday evening around 8pm. The food is decent but the service was terrible. The guy who took the order never came back and ask if we needed anything or at least ask how the food was. One of the girl who had brownish curly hair (not wearing a name badge) brought the food plate and banged it on the table where my cousin was sitting. It must have slipped from her hand but she didn't even apologize. Her attitude was like she doesn't even care. After the dinner when we requested her to bring 2 boxes she just nod her head and maintained her attitude. When we asked for the bill she said it was 96.67. We paid and then another girl came in and said the bill is 105.56. She said the previous girl didn't add the 10% service charge which she was supposed to because "it was a big table." So even though you get a terrible service you are required to pay service charge no matter what. I have met with the owner before in my first visit and he seem to be a very nice guy and also seemed concerned about his establishment. Me, being a business owner feel bad for him because his employees are not serious and are ruining his business. Also, before leaving my cousin over heard those girl laughing and they were discussing our incident of charging a service fee. One of the girl said, "i charge service fee anyway" and then they giggled. I have also noticed that the employees give good service when the owner is around. If the owner is reading this then please address this issue with your employee. I have included the day, time and total bill amount. I will not be visiting again. Doesn't make sense to drive an hour to this restaurant just to experience the...
