Disappointing. We arrived just before 8 pm on a Thursday. They close at 9. There was only one other table which was perfect because we were looking for a quiet place where we could talk. The atmosphere was great! The raised glass floor with sand and rocks was cool and I liked the lighting. I tried a Hawaiian Martini that was good, unfortunately everything after that was downhill. We ordered edamame as an appetizer and it took forever! As soon as the appetizer arrived we placed an order for 3 sushi rolls. 2 unique Shinto rolls (bikini bottom roll & dragon on fire roll) both of which sucked! The dragon was served on aluminum foil and tasted like I was eating a propane torch. The bikini bottom tasted funky. Hopefully it's not the fish going bad and I don't get sick. The $10 sweet potato roll tasted the best but the entire meal was underwhelming. What was even worse was the service. Nobody asked how anything was because nobody cared. They were more focused on cleaning up than on paying customers. They started mopping, didn't put up a sign saying the floor was wet and one of the servers slipped and fell! If you want to close up early and shut it down early then turn off your OPEN sign or just tell me the kitchen is closed and I'll go somewhere else. You would have been better off doing that than pissing me off and having me write a bad review. I'll never return. I'm by no means a sushi snob but there's so many better options than Shinto. I've had better sushi from the...

Just ordering the lunch specials for two adults and one kid (no alcohol, each person just ordered one lunch special) hit us for over $60.
If the food was incredible, I wouldn't mind but one major issue I had was that the california roll we received had almost no crab or avocado, and was mostly filled with cucumber. Out of all the sushi restaurants I've ever been to, this was the first to mess up a cali roll.
It was still good. The quality of the meal was great. Normally, I would not complain about something like that. I almost expect to get scraps when I order a lunch special. But for THOSE prices off the lunch menu, I would expect everything perfect.
I can't imagine how high the...
Read moreWhere do I start? The service was decent nice waiter. We decided to order the hibachi. Omg the worst hibachi everrrrrrrr. Vegetables were mush. Shrimp overcooked. Chicken seasoned but dry and my shrimp were cooked to oblivion. I can say the best thing we had that came with this meal was the miso soup and onion soup. Both were flavorful. In this economy going out to eat is a real luxury. So these restaurants need to step it up or like everything else just become a place we used to know. Whoever was in that kitchen cooking should of been ashamed of what they threw together. If my 4-year-old toddler knew the shrimp were overcooked Houston we have a problem! I kid you not this is the portion size with tasting one pcs of shrimp and chicken....
