We LOVE Taqueria Invicto, that's why it's sad for me to write this review; maybe there is new ownership/management. We hadn't been to Taqueria Invicto in a few months and were missing the yummy tacos and horchata (both of which are great). Unfortunately though, this time things were not great. Our order was wrong in three different ways and we had to almost argue with the staff to get it right.
TLDR: Our order had three mistakes in it and required us going back and forth with the staff to eventually get it right. Exhausted, I didn't even bring up the third mistake because at that point I just wanted to eat and leave.
Edit: The owner replied asking me to email them so they could "make things right". I did, and they never responded back.
Full story: We ordered three combo meals with horchata to drink. Immediately one horchata is called for us. A few minutes later, the taco meal comes out but it's only meat on the tortilla, no garnishes. I had removed the sauces when I ordered but left the cilantro and onion. But the tacos were completely naked. When I brought this to their attention, the woman spent 10-20 seconds scanning her copy of my receipt. Presumably this was done to point out that it was my fault for ordering wrong (which I didn't) but it would have been quicker just to put the cilantro and onion on there which she eventually did. No apology, no recognition of the error, whatever it's fine. That is corrected so I ask about our other two horchatas they say it's coming up. I sit down. A minute to two later, our number is again called, my wife goes up to get other two meals and the horchatas, but only one horchata is ready for us. My wife says there should be two, the worker says she already gave us the other horchatas and again starts scanning the receipt. The worker starts speaking Spanish to another worker telling her she gave us all of our drinks (my wife is fluent and understood). My wife says (in Spanish) no, there are supposed to be three, and the second worker shows the first all three on the receipt. So we finally get our third drink. This was three combo meals, should be obvious that each has a drink. As I'm eating I realize that the corn tortilla was not fully cooked, but by this time I've already taken a bite, don't want to argue with the staff again, so just dealt with it.
We've never had such a poor experience here and were left disappointed. Like I said we love Taqueria Invicto but if this is how the place operates now, we'll have to start looking for another restaurant with good tacos...
Read moreI ordered Hot Cheetos Burrito Plate, side of chips and cheese, and Mexican Coca Cola. This was not it for me. The Hot Cheetos Burrito has French fries in it for some reason? I don’t know why, maybe I forgot to had those taken out when I ordered at the kiosk. No biggie. There is also this green sauce that taste like pesto, more French fries than meat. Rice & beans tasted bland, no flavor whatsoever. There is also a sauce bar near the fountain drink station & the Crema Chipotle tasted more like mayonnaise than Chipotle. The avocado green sauce taste more like cilantro and lime flavoring. The Chile de Árbol was the only good sauce they had, everything else was always something too strong like mayonnaise or something I can’t pin point. My boyfriend had steak tacos, chips, bowl of rice, and strawberry milkshake. He said the meat tasted bland, they forgot to add his cilantro so he just simply had plain tacos. His milkshake didn’t even taste like strawberry milkshake, more vanilla. To top it off, the churro that comes on top of the milkshake was stale and hard. Overall, the service for me was a 4/10 and the food was a 2/10. The tables to sit were also sticky and most tables had dirty plates everywhere from previous customers who didn’t clean up after themselves, crumbs everywhere, so I wiped down a table just to sit. I don’t really recommend this place. We spent about $60-$70 with 15% ...
Read moreI'm not sure exactly what it was but it was really just "meh" to me.
Had some interesting flavors and overall it was good-ish.
There is a good chance that it was the customer service that kinda kicked it off. We walked in and the place was empty. Had never been there before and didn't see the sign that said pickup here. The girl behind the counter seemed annoyed that we didn't get out food ourselves off the counter. Then we walked out but realized we had a milkshake on the order. It was a tres leches shake. I went back in and said we forgot our shake. Again, the girl behind the counter seemed annoyed. Looked it up and confirmed we were missing a shake. She makes the shake and just kinda slides it over to me across the counter and walks away. No acknowledgement of error, no oops sorry, nothing... and still left the churro out of the shake and walked away. To top it off, the shake was 3/4 full... So I said whatever, took my food and went home to eat. It was good but for the money was a slightly elevated version of my local taco place with sauce drowning everything. I guess when you serve burnt meat you gotta cover it up. Oh and the shake wasn't the only part of the order they messed up. My fiance ordered a salad with grilled chicken and they definitely put pork on it.
Won't go back. Not worth the drive. Not worth the money. Was worth a...
